What Are You Watching? 2023

Omg I hated that episode so much.

I love Marcus, he is so natural, and I appreciated the hot calm of hot chef Luca.

Finished the season now. The guest turns were just wonderful and I have still not recovered from the levels of anxiety in Seven Fishes. Also Richie's redemption arc was perfect.

Now gone back to S2 of Slow Horses, which I forgot about.

I watched a documentary called The Last Dance about Michael Jordan. Fabulous and gripping. I don't know shit about basketball, but monoculture was everythang (that I got). :disco:

New series of The Tower starting on ITV1 tonight, I didn't see the first series, is it worth a watch?

Yes. The first episode of the new run was great too.

It features Brendan Brady from Hollyoaks in unsubtle git mode. Tamzin Outhwaite apparently puts in an appearance in this run too.

Four In A Bed (season 2022). Quite annoying when out of the 60 or so episodes I've amassed I end up not having the 5th episode with the showdowns. Nevertheless, my bacon was hard and I think you're a terrible human being - will I be back? No. And there was a poo in the loo, plus the biscuits weren't giving luxury.

Sold if this hun is in it

Tamzin is ACTING as the recovering drug addict mother of the victim. The second series is excellent. There is a very enjoyable new character called Elaine who almost steals the whole thing.

Also I don't normally watch the Proms but was intrigued by the Northern Soul one from last weekend and it was a joy. Some very good vocal performances.

Currently watching ‘Who is Erin Carter’ on Netflix which is a riot. As soon as it got a one star review from the Guardian (whose only angle these days seems to be, ‘it’s not Succession’) I knew it would be a lot of fun.

I've just finished Starstruck s3 on iPlayer. A weird show for me because I've watched every ep and am not actually sure I like it as such - more the idea of it. And the fact that it's like 20-25 minute eps and low stakes romantic makes it VERY WATCHABLE, and heartwarming with it.

This was probs my favourite of the three series. The new love interest (a man from Vigil) is adorable and really made me realise how there's fuck all chemistry between Rose Matafeo and the film star one.

I've only watched the first couple of episodes of the new Starstruck but the fresh love interest is indeed lovely and does have great chemistry with Rose.

Has anyone seen the 7 part 2022 series Interview With The Vampire (2022) from 2022?

I was googling Rae Dawn Chong as she looked so familiar in the breakdance-based film Beat Street (1984) set in the streets on NYC, but her imdb doesn't show up anything that sprung out as something I'd recognise her from (although she does have notable shorts and longs such as period piece The Color Purple (1985), sci-fi fantasy piece Highlander: The Series (1992-1997), supernatural horror Poltergeist: The Legacy (1996-1999), and supernatural soap-opera Melrose Place (1992-1999) under her belt, but I sadly didn't watch any of them (yet)).

Anyway, it wasn't cancelled and a 2nd season is on the way. I do love me some vampire action.

I really would like to see it as I know it was well-received and gay vampires, but annoyingly I don't believe it is available in the UK unless you pay by the episode on Amazon.

Ditto - I really want to see it*. It's got the lovely man from The Newsreader gaying it up again, this time with Vinder from flop-era Doctor Who

It feels like something the BBC / C4 would and should pick up so here's hoping.

*Just not enough to buy it from Amazon or dick about trying to pirate it

Just finished You and Me. At only three episodes it kept my attention and it is always nice to see Julie Hesmondhalgh, but there is a lot of Harry Lawtey frowning and pouting. Also he and Jessica Barden both have distracting accents.

Loved season two of Slow Horses, I believe it is due back soon so looking forward to that. Gary Oldman is disgustingly brilliant.

The return of Rome on a budget, Domina, on Sky. Tremendous fun.

"Just remember the rules... NEVER IN YOUR BOTTOM - that's what male slaves are for - and NEVER IN YOUR MOUTH - it's SHAMEFUL and NO ROMAN LADY allows it."

:disco:

Ooh I wonder if this is on NOW TV

Tonight is the Celebs Go Dating Finale, only dipped in and out of this series as have been away, but seems a good cast, where is our @Rita at?

Tonights BBC2 Saturday night music offering is Alicia Keys and Britney Spears at the BBC and Rihanna at Radio 1 big weekend.

I was absolutely AGOG reading this as thought you were both taking about THIS STARSTRUCK.

CANCELLED :( I really liked it as a natural progression from Stars in their Eyes. Olly said it was a 'money thing' - I guess they blew the budget on Shania Twain for the last series

RIP. I never watched but it was a Gogglebox favourite, they seemed to feature it every week.

Kicked off 'Wilderness' last night on Amazon - quite twisty and engaging so far - Jenna Coleman carries it of course (also how can one person be as gorgeous as she is).

I forgot Sex Education was coming back this week so started part two of the second season of Firefly Lane on Netflix.

I'm also experimenting with liking sci-fi by watching Foundation on Apple. Only a few episodes in and I'm kind of into it. Lee Pace still has remarkable eyebrows.

The Super Models docu-series on TV+ is excellent!

I still absolutely love Naomi Campbell. I had no idea what Linda Evangelista had been through recently.

I'm two episodes in and it really is a great series so far.

Married at First Sight UK has been my nightly evening light-ent this week, oh the drama :D

I think the 4th episode was a bit of a slump, but I guess you can’t get away from the ‘where are they now’ aspect.

I had no idea about all of Linda’s recent struggles either. She’s definitely my favourite from the four (and contender for my favourite ever).
