Thursday - Chaos at the Airport

Santiago airport was the first time I’ve encountered a post security smoking area in Europe, where are the others? My boss insists there’s one hidden away in Gatwick but I’m pretty sure it’s an URBAN MYTH!

Hong Kong airport is the best airport for smokers which has balconies right next to your departure gate.

I've just come back from Menorca and the first cafe you get to at the airport after security has outside seating with a smoking area. There's two restaurants further on offering the same.

Not exactly Hong Kong but its only 2 hours away.

Is Chaos At The Airport the middle aged version of Panic At The Disco?

Heathrow used to have a little smoker's corner in the luggage hall. Those were the days.

Help me out Moopy. I need one more person/thing that famously changed its name for a quiz I'm writing.

So far I have Prince/The Artist Formerly Known As, Hermes/Evri and Democratic Republic of Congo/Zaire.

Ideally not another pop star or country to avoid repetition.

If you want to be a right cunt why not a company that changed its name and then changed back again

"Bauer City 2 Network" was the name for Greatest Hits Radio before 2019 apparently :D
Also Oil of Ulay becoming Olay🧴

I’ve just had my very first Mandela effect.

I was talking to someone about an old cartoon - “Catch The Pigeon” and looked up the annoying theme tune and it has apparently always been “STOP THAT PIGEON”??? :o

No. It is catch the pigeon. It is definitely catch the pigeon.

And I refuse to look it up and have my worldview shattered.

Sinead O'Connor. Also Eswatini.

This is potentially an American thing, but when I was a kid sitting cross legged on the ground was called “Indian style” and now it’s called “criss cross applesauce”

Wasn’t it just called Dastardly and Muttley?

Bugger me, so it was! Stop The Pigeon was the working title, hence the theme song but the official name was "Dastardly And Muttley". :o

More weird is how there were only 17 episodes of it and, more importantly, of Wacky Races too.

It felt like it was in every morning whilst I was growing up.

There were only 12 episodes of Bagpuss. That was the one that freaked me out.

How did he become such a cultural icon in such a short space of time? In the mid noughties you couldn’t move for Quirky Girlz with Bagpuss backpacks.

Genius doesn't need to restate itself. The light that shines twice as bright and all that.

Just looked Bagpuss up. Sadly developed a severe drink and drug habit throughout the 80s and 90s. He got sober in 1999.

Sadly he fell off the wagon in the mid 00s and allegedly introduced Amy Winehouse to heroin.

Died in 2014 after being found on a bench in Bristol.

Only Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace turned up at his funeral.
