Look, look at you! :disco:

Morning mopsy, early breakfast, off to the gym in a second.

The Manchester half is going past my house, someone is blaring CHER BELIEVE out to motivate the runners.

This is a hate crime.

Risen without a hangover after a late night and quite a bit of wine :disco:

Hi Moopy.

I'm having a lazy pyjama day. I feel a bit guilty because it's a nice day, but also...meh.

I was going to phone little Freda, the Age UK lady I visited, but I'm saving her for a week on Monday so we can spend a few hours chatting.

Do Age UK restrict how much contact you can have with Freda?

No not really. It's been suggested maybe once a fortnight but that's based on my own commitments. I imagine if I went daily they'd tell me to be careful, but once a week is fine. I just call Freda and arrange a time.

You are in touch with an elderly lady to keep her company. That is lovely Rachey. You have an absolute heart of gold, and never change.

Thank you Rita 😌

I started the process back in June when I realised I spent days off either in the pub with friends or stressing at home with heathcliff. And I needed to get out and do something worthwhile. And I LOVE old people.

Then the shop got super busy and I had no time, then heathcliff died, and I lost interest. But I loved going to see Freda, she had so many good stories!

I’m so sorry to hear about Heathcliff.

Ah I see, it sounded a bit like talking to Freda today would reduce your time with her next Monday, that's why I asked.

We have a befriender scheme on our estate that's run by the residents' association, I've often thought of joining because I used to love chatting to the bodgers in the bungalows when I was passing with the dog but I don't really have the time for a solid committment between work, the house and looking after Mr F and I don't want to start and then have to let somebody down.

Good on you for making the effort, I imagine it makes a lot of difference for them to have somebody to talk to. Is Freda allowed to ring you or would that be a bit much?

No she's not supposed to ring me. She shouldn't have my number but I forgot to withhold it. Although she hasn't called me.

The benefit of Age UK is I don't have to commit to set days or times, I just call her when I want to arrange something. I'm hoping to do it weekly. But it depends what I've got going on.

I'd definitely recommend it tho. It's been very interesting.

I got caught with a congestion charge penalty. I had thought there was no charge on a Sunday. Totally my mistake BUT the penalty was £90! That seems a totally hideous amount to pay for a genuine mistake. And that's the reduced cost for paying within the first 14 days.
