"we spoke about several demonstrations across Britain during which people voiced their backing for Hamas..."

are they aware that this acknowledgment/apology actually comes off as a reiteration of the original false accusation? :D CLUMSY

I'm sure they are!

I thought this was interesting from a previous CBC anchor about the pressures

The BBC is actually one of the few channels actually with widespread coverage of what is going on in Gaza.

CNN covering quite a bit also which probably is even more unusual considering it's America

I had a look at Fox News yesterday out of morbid curiousity and they were definitely way more concerned with focusing on the wave of anti-semitism, and Iran preparing to attack Israel of course, because speculation works so much better than facts. Their other headline was about a teacher who had been sacked for making derogatory comments about Israel. Not a single mention of course of the child who was MURDERED for being Palestinian in America.

wait, what? they think she's a Hamas sympathiser because she wants to go paragliding? :D

lovely jacket btw

Last year, I saw @COB post a picture of himself on Instagram in a blue shirt, clearly a secret hidden PRO ISRAEL message…

vile. Labour are a bunch of soulless authoritarian (racist and transphobic) pigs under Starmer and schoolmistress Reeves.

They’re not quitting over the party stance on Hamas. They’re quitting over the ignorance towards the genocide of Gaza

Why do brain cells drop when it comes to war? Why can’t people make obvious distinctions?

They don’t want to make the distinction.

so they're not completely lacking self awareness!

I'd rather they realised they were being heartless cunts in the first place really, rather than having to be persuaded by the general public what's right and what's wrong.

  1. Hundreds of people have been killed in an Israeli strike on a hospital in Gaza, according to Palestinian officials
  2. A UN-run school in central Gaza where 4,000 people are sheltering was hit during an Israeli air strike, killing at least six people
  3. "No place is safe in Gaza anymore, not even UNRWA facilities," says Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General
  4. Earlier the Israeli military insisted it was not targeting civilians, adding: "When we see a Hamas target, we will go after it"

How does one deal with the anger? We’re watching genocide and can do nothing

I remember clearly our history lessons in school where we were taught that propaganda was an evil tool that caused the rise of the likes of Hitler.

Here we are in 2023 and it's being peddled to us like cheap fools and we're supposed to just LAP IT UP.

Israel totally denying this was the IDF.

Protests erupting in neighbouring nations.

This is going to blow up even further.

Earlier the Israeli military insisted it was not targeting civilians, adding: "When we see a Hamas target, we will go after it"

But their definition of a 'Hamas target' is the entire territory.

I'm not surprised they bombed a hospital because of course they did but to be so craven as to claim they didn't is beyond hideous. I'm beyond disgust and into anger now.

Israel's tactic seems to be constantly drip feeding the denial, so that their denial becomes the only narrative. Every live news feed is just endless different versions of the denial.

While the Gazans, don't have the same sophisticated media machine and are largely dealing with the shit on the ground, rather than providing a slick rival narrative.

The result, Israel bombs a hospital and the west believe it wasn't them.

My Israeli friend and my Jewish friends outside of Israel are all taking the propaganda bait about how "Israel doesn't bomb hospitals!", and sharing tons of "evidence" that the missile was fired by Hamas. but otherwise the lies don't seem to be landing especially far and wide. on my feed people seem to see what's going on.

I've been really surprised by, at least in my echo chamber, the way that most people are unequivocally pro-Palestinian and anti-Islamophobia. it's good to know that what the media push has not resulted in widespread hateful sentiment, quite the opposite.

I'm not sure they believe it but they have to report it otherwise the screams of bias and accusations of supporting terrorism start. Never has the suffering of millions been manipulated by the few with such repellent ambitions.
