Chicken Club Sandwich

Coming in hot with an early opener, but is there anything better than a club sandwich? Perfect for post workout nutrition thanks to its heavy protein/carb content. Amazing at soaking up hangover induced shame. Ever had a 2 slice of bread sandwich and felt like you were still hungry but not quite hungry enough to eat another sandwich? The club sandwich says FUCK OFF to that.

Amazing how many people get it wrong sadly, even a google image search was hard to find the correct chicken/egg/bacon combo, but when you find a good one, orgasmic.

11/10 dont @ me.

Truly the Nigel Farage of sandwiches. Imagine coming from Spain, being raised on jamon iberico and being offered this seretonin sapping monstrosity. No wonder other countries hate us. The sort of sandwich where you're more hungry once you've eaten it. This sandwich is a strong factor in why I gave up pork, nothing but hooves and arseholes in bread flavour bread substitute. In 1000 years this will be in a museum explaining why civilisation broke down. Jesus, imagine being the sort of person who looks at this and says 'yes, this will be my lunch today.' Ergh.

0/10 would rather starve.

Oooh that's a good looking sandwich!!

This won't be a popular choice I'm sure, but one of my favourite comfort food sandwiches is a simple cucumber sandwich, sometimes with cream cheese, sometimes without.

A solid 9/10

Agreed but I'm pretty sure it's not mean to have egg in it.

So in terms of sheer simplicity I used to LOVE these as a child:

But at some point I went off Branston pickle (and the like). I think it was the size of the chunks of vegetables that started to put me off. I migrated to small chunk for a while but in truth I haven't had a simple cheese and pickle sandwich in an absolute age.

Give me any other pickle in a sarnie these days as well as lashings of mayo.

A nostalgic 5/10.

Tesco Chicken Club Sandwich

I have one of these on days when they've run out of Pot Noodles. A bit bready and baggy and they could do with chucking a bit more sauce in, but the chicken content is surprisingly generous and they do nice, chunky tomato slices. I ate these a lot during lockdown so they've lost a bit of their winsome charm but I always enjoy them whenever I have one.

7/10 would mange.

Cheddar (thickly cut) but with laughing cow instead of butter/margarine

Can't find a pic so here's AI. This not toasted and no green bits.

Seedy toasted bagel, Philadelphia, smoked salmon, horseradish, lettuce and a blob of mayo for dipping

Bloody YES to the bagel.

I love bagels. H&H, Absolute And Barney Greengrass in NYC were my mainstays when I was there.

This review transported me back to a mid 90s sunday evening having super after a bath while heartbeat is on. Solid tearjerker.

Feel like you're trying to push the boundaries of sandwich rate too early on in its life. Be warned you're on a list.

Footlong Italian BMT on Italian - single cheese, toasted - everything apart from sweetcorn and cucumber; Southwest and sweet onion.

980/10

No, I will not be calling it by the shitty new name they've tried to give it.

The true sandwich purist would be raging at a subway receiving such a glowing review, you eat a footlong, you feel dirty and full, and 26 minutes and 3 burps you're hungry again. You're not on the list with Tisch yet but as a friend I need to let you know there are whispers in the backrooms of sandwich rate and I might have heard your name being mentioned

I have to be my authentic self; a fat cunt with no standards and an aversion to portion control. Subway is dirty and shameful but just looking at that picture has made me crave one.

I also want to rate the prawn and crab sandwich from Marco's in Stratford Upon Avon but there's no photo for that :(

FUCK CRESS
Submit sandwich pls.

My go-to when I’m feeling a bit depressed on a Monday at work, as part of a meal deal with salt and vinegar crisps which I put inside, probably a 6/10, tasty but with an inescapable whiff of sadness and ennui.

Stopped going to Subway since they changed their menu and made it more difficult, with random extra charges for the generic fillings.

My fav proper sandwich was from a local independent place, stacked Turkey salad with tonnes of mayonnaise and a load of raw onions

I have a personal vendetta against egg and cress. Sorry but you're no longer welcome in this thread.
