Just plain banana? Not even some peanut butter or honey/jam?
Welcome to working class britain in the 1980s

Ron's banana sandwich has reminded me of a childhood sandwich I loved. Don't judge, we were poor.
Brown sugar sandwich. 7/10 for nostalgia.View attachment 21906
BOOTS PIGS UNDER BLANKETS 2023

The subject of controversy due to the absence of cranberry sauce but the subject of joy among those who dislike this and prefer the onion relish they've plumped for instead. Is it festive? Not really. Does it spark a joyful fountain of tastebud tickles? No. Is it perfectly acceptable and a match to the mood of a dull Wednesday afternoon when you feel all you really deserve is cold sausages on slightly soggy bread? Yes. Yes it does.
7.5/10
Exactly! Just cucumber and bread, that’s not food! Why is my cucumber sandwich getting so many angry reactions, it's a cucumber and bread![]()
Ok I can see why you have a personal vendetta against themExactly! Just cucumber and bread, that’s not food!
I was once in the Netherlands for a training. The group I was training told me not to worry about lunch since they’re taking care of that. After an entire morning of me talking non-stop I was treated to a couple of THOSE SANDWICHES, which we all ate in 15 minutes and then they were ready to go back to the training. That whole lunch break was a journey and half away from French/Mediterranean culture centred around food, it was so depressing I nearly CRIED.
I hate the Netherlands. I hate those sandwiches.

Why does ALL of this post read explicitly (yes even the BOOBS)?I had an Italian BMT for my dinner because of this chat. The filthy slut went down a treat.

There’s nothing explicit about me getting my gums around a girthy pylon of greasy meat. Why does ALL of this post read explicitly (yes even the BOOBS)?
The best sandwich i've had this year was a full English breakfast bap which I had in a dirty caf in Newcastle.
Bacon, sausage, hash brown, mushroom, black pudding, fried egg and baked beans. 100/10 dirty as fuck but lush.
Has anyone tried a Monte Cristo? I had one in the States over 25 years ago and then went through a period of making them myself.
The concept is QUITE PERVERSE!

A depraved 7/10 (only the Americans could come up with something quite as ludicrous).

and TARATOR sauce! *dies*DEAD TO ME.I’m strictly chicken shawarma, I don’t do beef. Maybe back in the ME (even there they put parsley which I hate) but not here.

I haven’t either. It’s a BEAUTIFUL word!I haven’t heard the word samoon for ages.
I prefer the Lebanese pita bread. For sandwiches or otherwise. But warm fluffy samoon is pretty amazing too
Oh so Arab sandwiches are not valid?THIS IS NOT A SANDWICH.

It's a wrap.Oh so Arab sandwiches are not valid?![]()
So simple yet so easy to get it wrong. I find most of the supermarket versions awful (apart from M&S and Waitrose) but in truth I'd prefer to make it myself and perhaps turn it into a melt.![]()
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you tuna and sweetcorn.
Yes it's an ordinary sandwich on the face of it, but I practically lived off it during my uni years and there's such a nostalgia element there that should not be underestimated.
I also like the combination of the tuna flakiness with the sweetness and crunch of the corn.
I may well have to renege my veggie phase.
Anyway, a solid 8/10. And the best ones are the home made ones, naturally. I recommend a touch of of tabasco, with lots and lots of ground black pepper.
