There is only one greatest song of 1989 and that of course is Ride On Time.

It LITERALLY KICK STARTED DANCE MUSIC AS WE KNOW IT.

And yes I’m willing to fight people on that statement. It might not have been the first but it was the turning point.

You just WALK RIGHT IN
WALK WALK WALK RIGHT in and
woh-oh, woh-OH wo-oh-Oh wo-o-o-oh-OH
O-oh-oh, oh-oh, o-o-o-oh-oh, o-o-oh-oh

IT CHANGED MY LIFE

The other song is only one of the greatest songs by one of the greatest artists of all time in the peak of their career at the launch of one of their most important albums ever, but frankly that's JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Do we dock points for one of those songs unintentionally launching the career of Heather Small?

NO BECAUSE IT'S THAT GOOD

Congratulations to Madonna & "Like a Prayer" on her divine victory! :disco: 🥳

LaP is a song that burns and bleeds through time. RoT is a song that blasts and bounces itself into oblivion. I would have favoured Madge - both videos absolutely iconic and inescapable to unwatch when you start. A thrilling top 2.

Missed the vote on account of holiday and no Wi-Fi. Relieved that it wouldn’t have made a difference. Appalled that you managed to get this wrong in my absence.
