Sunday is a positively balmy 8 degrees

-3 here and I am stoking up the fire so I can lounge in front of it all day watching rubbish on the tv before I set off back home tomorrow.

It's nice and frosty here today. I stayed over in my parents and am still wrapped up with a hot water bottle.

There's a rainbow out my window.

I've warmed up a bagel and delicious it was too. Now spinning The The's "Infected". Amazing how good my 1986 vinyl of this still sounds.

Mandy's on her way back from Brighton after spending the weekend there. I've enjoyed my weekend home alone. Now I have to share the bed again :(

7° here. The heating went off at about 10am and I'm resisting the urge to turn it back on. I'll be off up my mum's shortly though, where it's always warm as she's in warden controlled housing.

Mind you, this more mild weather has come with a weather warning of 32 hours of heavy rain coming from midnight.

The car park at my flats is a complete death trap. The top layer of ice has melted leaving a layer of water on top of the rest of the ice. I nearly went arse over tit a million times just walking to the car.

I want a Chinese but I can’t be bothered driving to get one and they don’t deliver.

WHY ME GOD?? 😭

Genuinely don't think I could manage 12 hour shifts any more. I've only ever done shifts that long for a brief period in my early/mid 30s.

The longest days I do now are 8.5 to 9 hours. Although that's excluding the commute which sometimes feels even more like work.

I was hoping to go back to work tomorrow but my vision is still blurry in the one eye, and based on the past few days I doubt it'll be 100% by the morning so I think I'll have to get a sick line from the GP tomorrow. Tuesday is Mr COB's graduation so I'd already booked that off, so hopefully I'll be good for Wednesday morning.

I'm living in hope that my smell and taste will be back very soon. Today for dinner I had fried eggs on toast and I could taste salt! Couldn't taste anything else but I've never loved salt so much in all of my life. For tea I did chicken, peppers, mushrooms and noodles in sweet chilli and garlic sauce. I couldn't taste it but I swear I tasted "sweet" a couple of times.

I have to force myself to eat when I can't taste anything so I need flavours back so I can put some weight back on.

I wish my taste had gone so I couldn't taste or want food when I had COVID :(

I have noticed I can't taste salt much anymore tho.

How long ago did you have Covid (assuming that’s why your taste and smell are off)?

Food is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. I'd hate to lose my sense of taste.

Assuming I'm still unable to see tomorrow, I only have seven days left
