After many delays my first cold of the season is finally here. And it's a rough coughing and sore throat one, my least favourite of all of them.

Last late shift of the year. Mind you, it'll be pitch dark on the way home anyway so it's six and two threes.

I've been sufficiently dodging the various plagues that have been going around recently. Which just makes me more concerned for how i'll be at Christmas.

I had a plague a few weeks ago so hopefully, I won't get another. I only need to last until the evening of 22nd anyway - after that I've got nothing else on.

I’m only just getting over WHATEVER THAT WAS that took me out for the past 10 days or so. It has left me so behind on Christmas prep. I would rather it hit me now than at Christmas when I am cooking for 16 on Christmas Day.

Snap. The adrenaline of the last few weeks has seen me push through and I just know it's going to collapse the minute I stop, just like last year.

Last weekend I purposely met with a friend despite her warning me she had been unwell and possibly a bit germy, thinking that if I got a cold now, hopefully it would be gone by Christmas.

We’re off!

Just WHY has my manager scheduled a 4pm teams meeting on a FRIDAY?!

I just go a £23 bottle of vanilla Absolut for £15. Now, it is Christmas.

Any of you whores staying in tonight? I'm home and utterly bored.

@GingerbreadAg (39) and other teachers or parents of teenagers.

Is it a new trend that teens must cover their mouths when their photo is being taken?

All the parents I know with teenagers, they all cover their mouths! I don't understand.

I'm still occasionally coughing up the crap from my previous cold. Dragged on for almost 2 weeks

Wasn't the cove, I tested (despite saying I'd not pay for tests I guess my conscience won't let me). Tbh it was worse than either of my COVID experiences.

Only in for 1.5 days next week then I'm done

Meanwhile in "not likely to do what's left of my cough any good" (unless maybe it loosens what's left of the crud) I got obsessively curious and grabbed a nic-free vape. First time I've inhaled anything other than fresh air (never tried smoking never will). Interesting sensation at first and then just... I guess it's kind of fun making clouds and getting a bit of flavour. Can't see myself getting addicted, no interest in trying nicotine. Might try one other flavour then likely to call it a day.
Disclaimer: it's generally advised NOT to get into even nic-free if you don't already smoke so don't see it as a prompt to join a trend/bandwagon. Just sayin'

I've often wondered what it's like to vape. Some of them smell amazing. I wonder if they curb sweet cravings 🤔

Doesn't do a lot for me (since I have absolutely no desire to get into nicotine) but the apple one I got is kind of nice. First time was like "ok that hit the back of the throat and felt weird" then was just a thing for making clouds.

Hard to say and probably considered "irresponsible" to say but I dare say as someone who often snacks just for the sake of having something to shove in my mouth (steady now) and get a bit of flavour, it does seem like it might work as a zero calorie way to fulfil that need...

Obviously the main worry is "we don't know the long term effects of these" but eh, I mean we inhale flavours whenever we go into the kitchen I guess or that's my logic so far - that and surely alcohol is much worse and I drink tons of that.

Interesting. I'm now tempted to try it just to curb my cravings. I mean, being fat affects your health as well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fair point really.

I've found nic-free to be relatively rare but B&M had disposables for a fiver so thought heck it. Only live once.
