I bought one of them £1.50 fruit and veg boxes from lidl yesterday and got two swedes in it.

What do I do with them?

Oh, it's kålrot. They're vile, throw it away or make an enemy and force-feed it to them. Ugh.

I LOVE the word RUTABAGA! One of the few POSITIVE contributions the Americans have made to the English language.

Is it like mashed potato?
Yes, but on its own its quite a full on flavour. Do like Halli says and mash it with carrot. That gives it a sweetness which makes it a lot more palatable.

You may need to employ help to chop it.

Morning. Quiet day for me today although I am currently preparing to have a difficult conversation with someone who I know is not going to respond well. :eyes:

I was born in a time that we used to carve them instead of pumpkins at Halloween.

OMG, you can do lots with it. Soup, curry, or mash as an accompaniment. It’s a lot sweeter in taste than a potato, possibly more like sweet potato but not quite. I love it.

One good thing about being a Londoner, free school meals for our kids while at primary school :o

Quite right too. This should be the norm.

Give them one each anyway. What's the worst that could happen?
