So this was my original thought when I was thinking of Bournemouth! I've been Brownsea Island once before and it was lovely to see all the linked history! So IoW or Bournemouth :o
Would be lovely to get overseas somewhere, but it's just so expensive in school holidays, maybe next year :(

Coming to the island feels like going overseas because of the ferry. :)

Obviously I'm biased, but with your kids at the age they are I think they'd love the island. As they get a bit older then maybe not, and so mainland places may be better. But at a young age, it's perfect. Especially if you don't want too busy and crowded.
