The Lily Allen Appreciation Annexe

Sorry to ruin the positivity in this thread but I just popped in to throw it out there that she is probably my least favourite artist of all time.

And I once listened to a Bon Jovi album.
:D

I’m not much of a fan myself but I do really like Apples from her last album. So simple and yet so heartbreaking.

Do she break a habit of a lifetime and actually sing, or does she just speak along with the melody in her fake cockerney accent?

Sings a BIT, the mockney accent is present but watered down and the sad nature of the song means her fragile voice actually sounds half alright

I am with you though for the most part.

Love Lily. The last album was excellent. Higher and Pushing Up The Daises were highlights for me.

I'm glad she likes 'No Shame' and didn't disown it when it flopped. It's a great album.

The podcast is quite fun.

What's your recommendations from No Shame GNL? Never really listened to it all the way through

'Apples' is my UTTERLY MISERABLE fave but 'Come on Then' and 'Lost My Mind' are bops and 'My One' sort of has a similar vibe to 'Air Balloon' musically but with a bit more of the candour you'd expect from her.

She's QUIT music AGAIN (Until the next time)

I think she's in a great place for #LA5 though :disco:

The latest episode of her podcast has her having to break the news to Miquita Oliver that she only has 3 stars on WikiFeet :(

R Lil wants a role in Kill Bill 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Love u girl but it's giving

Tired Good Night GIF

I honestly just think she's shown time and time again that she's really quite dim and not someone you'd really want in your life. not much happening upstairs.

But she has QUIRKY HAIRCUTS and SINGS WITH A FAKE LANDAN ACCENT so apparently everyone has to love her!

Saw right through this plastic nepobaby from day one. Vile creature.

I listened to her telling Steve Jones this on the PODCAST and did think this might cause a bit of a commotion. Quite heartless!

This is wild and completely ridiculous. Would you not keep an important document like a passport in a secure place away from a dog knowing they like to chew things?

No idea what goes on in her head but it’s not a place I’d like to be! :zombie:

CUNTNESS personified. I still follow her on Instagram though.

the podcast is QUITE GOOD. She really doesn't give a shit and I think she's filtered alot anyway with it being a BBC production.

LDN, The Fear, Chinese, Come On Then and Miserable Without Your Love are on musical merit alone fantastic, before you add the brilliant lyrics on top. And there are plenty more to add to that pile.

Her not having the singing voice of Maria Callas makes no difference whatsoever.

I am yet to discover a single bar, let alone a chorus or verse, let alone a song, that is worth investing in.

Truly the antithesis of good music and a truly terrible personality to boot

Some of you are deaf and are absolutely in my prayers.

She's great. An absolute mass of contradictions and a press agent's nightmare, but some of the songs have been so, so brilliant.
It's only of late but I've realised that she can often be contrary just to appear different and edgy and I find it frankly irritating.

And I'm not really a fan of the music either. In fact I don't know why I've followed her all this time.

The Fear is legitimately one of the best number ones of the Noughties

Everything else

BILGE

Was she a cunt from the beginning? I seem to remember her being rather liked. Had no idea Lily Allen was so polarizing.

(unlike Katy Perry who's both controversial and polarizing)
