It stands up well as being rather bold and her most unflinching execution since CoaD. I'm going to listen later. And the artwork I can't believe I once looked at in dismay - all the pictures from the album look great to me. Ciao Bella at the gym until later when I put the rest of it on.

I think it was really well packaged, agreed. I didn't like the rainbow vinyl but otherwise the rest of it was nicely put together.

Ratings coming.

Easily her most satisfying work post CoaDF for me - and arguably MORE satisfying in a creative sense than it. There are some elements (largely trap) I'd happily do without, but on the whole I'm very fond.

I loved that she was trying some different and there was a lot less 'chasing the crowd' than the previous albums. Some of the songs are technically good but not all that enjoyable to listen to - eg Dark Ballet, God Control, Killers - I really like them, I just don't really know I want to listen to them lots more times. Maybe they're just a bit too long.

Big keepers for me are Medellin, Crave, Come Alive, I Don't Search I Find. I also ended up really liking Future after not being too sure at first, and I sometimes am obsessed with Back That Up To The Beat.

So good to see her doing something creatively daring. Unfortunately, it really isn't all that fun to listen to. Looking at that tracklisting, there's not a single song I'd choose to listen to voluntarily. Most of them aren't awful, just not very enticing.

That's exactly it. While I admire what she set out to do with this album I don't really enjoy listening to it. I only come back to God Control IDSIF and (recently) I Rise. Some of the rest is just a slog to get through from start to finish.
I have no desire to rewatch the Madame X concert either, but that's partly due to the horrendous editing.
