Morning. I'm the only one working in my team for the rest of this week, which means I'm either going to have the quietist week ever or a disgustingly busy one, and I just don't know which way it's going to go.

Seems that a two-team department decided to have an in-office day without booking the desk space. So they waddled in and then, lo and behold, the seats were taken. Handbags at dawn material. "We always use these, you'll need to move" "But we booked them, you didn't." "Aye but we always use these..." etc etc. Grown adults, these people, many of them older than me.

I've been to Monmouthshire on the train today. Forgot that Taylor Swift is playing the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Every train we have been on has been spangly dresses a-gogo.

No, I think that's probably a bit much for a day trip after looking at a map and train times. We'd need to be there a lot earlier than today.

Erm... Abergavenny was ok, it wasn't amazing although there is a nice walk along Llanfoist canal we enjoyed.

There's some nice cafes in Abergavenny but we probably only spent an hour at most there.

The castle looks nice, but it was closed when we were there.

I only asked because it reminded me of the IoW in some ways!

I loved it - particularly all the independent cafes and shops, plus the weather was nice and we found a lovely park alongside the river.

I did the same and the views from the streets of Rusholme were very similar.
