As for ME, today is a big work day. Biggest client (think a properly big sport organisation for the biggest sport) have asked me to take on all their editorial work, meaning everything that gets published on their website in different languages will come through my company. It's worth a LOT of money, will mean I need to take on staff, which revolutionises the way my business works and will enable me to back away from the day job and concentrate on building the business and looking after a team.
The downside? They want a trial period. Meaning I'm going to have to cover it all with just myself and one project manager until they sign on the dotted line and I can employ people. Which means about two months of working 7 days a week, from about 5am to 11pm between the two of us.
DEAD BY CHRISTMAS.

I was going to say "can't you outsource anything?" but remembered "hang on, I work in this business and I wouldn't outsource anything myself during a trial period".![]()
But congrats and good luck babe!

Mallorca !
No gay scene unfortunately. I’m sure there’ll be cruising bushes SOMEWHERE
(Not that I’ve ever partaken)

Well I outsource all the translation of course, but I can’t even temporarily teach someone the ins and outs of the account and our internal systems in such a short time period and in a way that will enable me to not stress about it so much that it will let me be even remotely calm anyway, even if I could!
Yeah, I hear you; delegating parts of standard operations in high pressure situations is fine - the less tangible tasks not so much. You'd need time to onboard someone which you clearly won't have, so that would be more of a pain point rather than an alleviation.

Why do I suddenly feel like I'm in an annual performance review?![]()

A morning of desk moves = nothing is working properly. IT'S 2024! I'D BE BETTER OFF WITH THE CALCULATOR I HAD IN 1987!
WhoooOOOoooppp!!! Trial shift on FridayI'm in the gym right now, then I have a one to one with Antidote followed by an acupuncture session and then an interview at a delightful vegan establishment.
