I can’t believe it’s here already. :disco:

This ceremony should either be spectacular or at least shitacular. But it can’t be worse than Tokyo’s.
 
The opening ceremony certainly feels like it can only be great or a disaster.
 
Well Putin has allegedly being setting fires across Europe, so this entirely within his wheelhouse.
 
Had SO MUCH Olympic work going on the last few days since the football tournament started, which is marvellous, but has meant I haven't had too much time to do any watching. That changes tonight- super excited to sit in and gawk at this SPECTACLE DU SPORT.
 
Also, my friend who is part of Team GB in a medical capacity, has popped round with a Opening Ceremony bomber jacket and polo shirt and closing ceremony Hawaiian shirt.

In about a month's time, he'll give me ALL MANNER of other toot too, which is nice :disco:
 
And in final OLYMPIC NEWS, (and sorry for the name drop- I seem to do this a lot around athletics :D ), Ireland's flag bearer is Sarah Lavin, the 100m hurdler, and I am overjoyed as I'm friends with her parents who are an absolute JOY. I texted them earlier and they are made up, as you can imagine. Must be a surreal feeling to have a child who is doing something so few get to do.
 
It's rather a shame that they're using the Paris skyline as the centrepiece of the opening ceremony, and it couldn't look MORE GREY.

Paris is a stinky dump, but it looks quite cool (I've wanked over it a few times, but that's it)

Yes it smells like piss, yes, it's always on fire, and yes, it's full of rude tourists and locals who are ruder still, but Paris on a sunny day is :disco:
