Very Mindful. Very Saturday. Very Demure.

Demure always makes me think of the fragrant Mary Archer

Morning.

I've had next to no sleep, the cats keep meowing at me, and I need to go to the shops. Not feeling very demure at all.

I hear ya Zen! :zombie:

I'm sleeping like a fascist who was filmed looting Lush at the minute for some reason and I'm not sure why.

My health app gave me a sleep score of 91 (excellent) last night, despite only sleeping 6 hrs 55 minutes. I assume it must be happy with the quality.

My sleep has been DODGY for the past 10 days. It has stopped cooling down overnight in the last week, 30°C or more each day, so my flat has been like an OVEN, even my bedroom which is out to the northern side of the house.

There's a bloke in the ground floor flat opposite that has what I assume is an indoor cat because I only ever see it sat on his windowledge. This morning his window was open and he was in the front garden, the cat was maybe six feet away from him and everytime he moved towards it the cat moved further away. I saw him go flat on his face twice launching himself at the cat and on the third attempt he managed to grab fur, ran to the window and threw the cat inside. Then he climbed in after it and closed the window again. :D

I discovered when hanging the washing out that feral f*ckers had destroyed the fence behind my shed. It was in pieces on the park. So I had dragged an old pallet out of the bushes further along and was wedging it against the gap where my fence used to be. Two lads on bikes rode over and the biggest one, maybe aged about 12, asked what I was doing so I said somebody had broken my fence up and I was trying to fill the gap. Expecting to get abuse or snarky comments I was gobsmacked when he asked whether they could help me! They both stood on the other side and helped me manouevre it into place. Faith in humanity was restored in that moment. Although I did tear a sizeable chunk of flesh out of my hand on a rusty bolt.

I even put a post on the resident's association page describing them and saying how helpful they were and that their parents should be proud. It then occurred to me that they might have had some hand in the destruction of the fence and felt guilty when they saw the old lady trying to wrestle a pallet but I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt. :D

Even if that was the case, the fact that they helped out of guilt shows they have learned a lesson. So yes, the pride of their parents may be a little misplaced, but in terms of the bigger picture, life lesson learned. Either that or they were just genuinely helpful lads, so I'd say you've done right thing regardless.
