Beautiful Stranger is amazing but the Orbit songs on Music are far from their best work. I don’t know if they had a ROL 2 in them.
 
Beautiful Stranger is amongst the less-streamed of her hits, which I think just proves that ageing queens lose taste as they grow old

Sadly straights listen to Madonna too. The Beautiful Strangers streams are ONLY OLD QUEENS.

Which is odd really, because you'd think the 60s rock / flower power styling would make this the only Madge song to have any appeal to 2.4 middle-class boomers.

I was never familiar with hhe original Don McLean version (I only heard it after I realized "American Pie" was a cover). Sadly, the original didn't say much to me, so I truly prefer the Madonna version and I still to this day happily listen to it!
 
I guess when you have such a huge back catalogue, the massive 80s hits will end up inevitably being the big ones. Into the Groove for example is so much more synonymous with 80s pop than Beautiful Stranger is with 90s pop.

I presume Ray of Light is her most streamed 90s song, but I genuinely have no idea.

it’s featured on 3 different compilations and still low. Thats sad.

I know people think it’s a bit reductive but I LOVE Amazing and prefer it to Beautiful Stranger.

Beautiful Stranger, as wonderful as it is, will suffer from not being on a studio album, I’d have thought.

Music and the other singles were 2000 hun.
 
I wonder how much Erotica loses by never being put on a playlist. It’s hardly the sort of song you want popping on on a Greatest Hits playlist that appears in a shop.
 
I'd have thought Deeper and deeper would be much more popular than that. It's one of the poppiest things she did in the 90s
 
I can really never be bothered with Deeper and Deeper. Why would I put it on when I could just listen to EXPRESS YOURSELF
 
Deeper and Deeper is magnificent. It got lost in the post- Erotica backlash, which is probably why it isn’t remembered so well. Certainly in the US, it was her smallest hit for a while.
 
Deeper and Deeper is simply too cunt for mass consumption
 
Deeper and Deeper is one of those VERY Madonna second singles, in that it really should/ could have been the lead and therefore much bigger if they were playing it safe, but instead she demanded to go left field instead.

It went top ten here, but pretty forgotten. Rain peaked lower but had the better run, and more remembered most likely.
 
Deeper & Deeper (and Erotica, realistically) strike as very much gay interest only in streaming terms.

Nobody’s sticking them on at a hen party or the office playlist.
 
I am still the only person that remembers this, but MTV used to truncate the Deeper and Deeper and end it early, and I never knew why. For years, I thought there must have been something rude going on, but seemingly not so…
