I knew those nips would get her into trouble.

Anyway, hi morning. It's wet and cold out there.

Good morning Moopy.

I'm currently on the motorway on our way to Wales.

Mandy's chosen the playlist, so far all I've heard is Kylie, Girls Aloud, Sophie Elis Bextor and Madonna.

She tells me theres also Teddy Swims, Westlife and Stereophonics, but I'm not convinced.

I'm very WOBBLY LEGGED today. After concentrating on my (puny) upper body with exercises, I decided to do some lower body ones last night, thinking it would be a piece of piss as I've always had solid legs.

So I did just three sets of squats which weren't too arduous, but after about an hour sitting down, I could barely climb the stairs last night.

Walking the about 4km to the railway station now, and they still feel quite weak. I can't manage the pace I usually aim for.

I dread doing legs for this reason. No matter how much stretching I do I end up crippled for 2 days after.

I read that doing some gentle treadmill/biking after is good, so I'm going to try it today.

I didn't even think of stretching first! :D

THe annoying thing about weight loss is how much my legs have shrunk- they were my best feature.

I don't think I can still leg press 450kg these days...

Yes, I was surprised as that as well. I didn't think I was carrying that much weight there, but clearly I was. I can't say I'm too upset because I do recognise they look more toned, but I was never concerned with the size of them.

I'd much rather lose the still quite considerable gut, but I guess you can't pick and choose where you lose it.

A friend once said he mostly trains legs because you use your leg muscles the most and the bigger they are the more calories they need to work, so its a route to losing stomach fat.

No idea if its true but it always sounded like a good idea.

Yes, pretty much. They’re the largest muscle group in the body so if you’re working hard there it pays off in other areas too.

I’ve always found legs easiest to do as they’ve always been strong as I’ve done competitive sports since primary school and kept it up so have a bit of a head start with that.

I certainly found that working my legs got my heart rate up more than my upper body, so that's got to be good in terms of calorie burning, presumably.

No, that's why I don't get a say 😭

EXACTLY. Shut the fuck up.

I say this to Mr Sheena ALL THE FUCKING TIME. The day he learns to drive, pays for a car/ petrol/ insurance, he can choose the music and I can FALL ASLEEP ON EVERY SINGLE CAR JOURNEY like he does.

I feel I've told this story before, but my legs have always been spectacularly rugby style muscly. When I was proper gymming all the time a couple of years back, I got to 450kg on the leg press, which is basically ALLLLLLLLLLL the weights. The proper muscled lads came over when I was doing a set of around 420kg x 10 x 3 one day and said "Look, we keep seeing you do this and it's amazing, can we give it a try?". Not one of them could even do 1 rep. I was so fucking proud.

Until their REALLY OBESE mate who used to come with them said "Oh give me a go" and he actually managed to push once. And then they all LITERALLY IN MY FACE AND WITHOUT A SENSE OF GUILT AT ALL went "OMG, WOW! Ohhh...I guess it's cause of the extra weight you all carry around, must be exercising your legs all day long.

I COULD HAVE FUCKING PUNCHED THEM.

(If they weren't much fitter and harder looking than me, that is).

Can't drop anything on it if you wrap them both in shrinkwrap and lock them in the understairs cupboard!

Or as I say when any of my friends' kids ruin our plans for whatever reason:

FOR FUCKS SAKE, TELL THEM THEY'RE ADOPTED AND MOVE ON

Oh I never fall asleep. And if we're going on holiday together I share the petrol costs.

I've always been into biking so my legs are strong, but fuck me the doms are the worse after a leg workout. So like a weasel I avoid it.

Oooh GREY AREA. I'd still lean towards OUR MAND having control of the playlist, but if you're PAYING, you should be PLAYING.

Then again, you said Stereophonics earlier, so your opinion ACTUALLY isn't valid.

Whenever I'm not driving I take full control of the AUX and dazzle Ms Ron with a spectacular set of sonic beauty.

Well only because they're at IoW festival and I need to get to know some of their songs because I don't know many. Not because I'm particularly a fan.

I don't know how anyone can fall asleep in a car. The noise, the movements, the fear of imminent death...although the latter has worn off a bit over the years.

The only time I've fallen asleep in the car was coming back from @AGinAg (39) 's wedding, when I was so hungover I thought I was going to die, in fact I think death would have been better.

I remember Mandy subjecting me to Sophie EB the whole journey and I didn't even have the energy to say anything.

If I'm somewhere warm and I'm sitting down, I fall asleep. Noise doesn't matter, I'll happily do it in the cinema. The motion is oddly soothing, so if anything only makes it more likely.

It's probably the biggest source of rows in our relationship. Mr Sheena REFUSES to drive, something about childhood trauma- almost as a psychologist he should FACE THAT, but NO! Anyway, he has ZERO idea of what driving actually means/ entails which is one annoying thing, so will do things like "Oh, I've arranged that we're going to DEEPEST DARKEST WALES for Christmas, but because of my work, you have to drive there on Christmas Eve and back the day after Boxing Day" and then seems surprised when I get angry cause it takes EIGHT FUCKING HOURS because they're both peak times and I have to a SHIT, NO ALCOHOL Boxing Day night.

After last year, when I got the WORST cold over Christmas (again) and had to drive back him and his niece REALLY FUCKING ILL, both of whom slept 90% of the way, NEVER FUCKING AGAIN.

I remember that day.

I on the other hand went COTTAGING :disco:

That's pretty shit of Mr Sheena. I don't really expect Mandy to drive me places, although she obviously does when we go on holiday, but luckily she loves driving and isn't a huge drinker.

She occasionally makes comments about me driving, but she also knows id be the shittest driver and has said multiple times she wouldn't get in a car with me even if I did drive.

To be fair to him, he doesn't "expect" it in general life, but he just doesn't realise the ballache and upheaval things actually are. Big driving generally takes PLANNING of everything else around it.
