What Are You Watching? 2024

I've been hooked on 'Sambre - Anatomy of a Crime' on iplayer, true story about the serial french rapist who went 30 years before being caught. Some brilliant acting especially from the woman playing Christine, it's subtitles but well worth watching

Quite disappointed to find that Tom Bateman does not feature in the second run of Funny Woman. Gemma Arterton is good fun but not sure there is enough here for a second series.

Halfway through Colin From Accounts, which remains as good as ever.
 
Celebrity Gogglebox. Didn't realise Denise Van Oughten was friends with Johnny Vaughn again. They've not said much yet though.
 


The guy in the very last picture here also worked with them on Big Breakfast. I always fancied him. I do love a geek.
 
Finished Sherwood s2. Fucking wonderful*. ALL THE AWARDS for MONICA DOLAN in particular. One of the all-time great TV monsters, and she didn't even make it look like she was trying.


*apart from the motive for trying to kill the Sheriff with a poisoned vape pen being CUTS TO THE LOCAL COUNCIL. Bit silly
 
Season 1 5 of Aussie Married at First Sight. I'd do Dean for sure. Episode 25, so nearly done. The girl Dean almost ditched his wife for was clearly a narcissist - I wonder if the experts couldn't say anything about it for legal reasons as they certainly picked up on her tell-tail traits such as a jaw-dropping lack of empathy.

Onto season 6 of Aussie Married At First Sight. Luckily there are at least 4 husbands I'd do (1 especially) and an extremely hot older brother of one of the brides who I can't wait to see more of. Strewth!
 
Season 6 has definitely done well with almost 1 hot guy per couple. The not anymore virgin being the biggest surprise the second the guns came out. The sexist and condescending bald guy, the runaway groom who came back, the former stripper, the PE teacher, meditation guy, canoe guy, all hot. Only the farmer disappoints, but his wife has the hot brother who was the hottest of all so all is not lost. Onto the first commitment ceremony.
 
Looking forward to that. Back on slightly more familiar ground after the fantastical Renegade Nell didn't get picked up for another run.

I have started Nightsleeper and The Wives on C5 though :D
 
I've watched two episodes of Nightsleeper and The Wives - both absolute tosh but I am entertained. I'm not completely sure why I broke my Channel 5 drama abstinence for The Wives, enjoying the Outhwaite's work in particular though.
 
I watched the first episode of The Wives and although I am fond of all the actresses involved, it did nothing for me. I might stick with it a bit longer though

Same with The Teacher, watched a couple of episodes of that and got bored

These channel 5 dramas just DON'T CUT THE MUSTARD i'm afraid :oi: But I did quite enjoy Cold Call and Coma in a daft nonsense kinda way

Has anyone seen Witness Number 3? I was gonna try that just because Sue Johnston is in it

I must catch up on both of these.
 
The Wives was silly, soapy nonsense with ludicrous plot twists but I had so much fun watching it. The ridiculous ending suggests all involved are very much banking on spending more time in Malta.

I watched the first episode of Nobody Wants This on Netflix, which is an easy romantic thing with likeable leads (Kristen Bell and Adam Brody). Convenient half hour episodes too.

Just started Apples Never Fall on iPlayer. About a woman (the fabulous Annette Bening) who goes missing while her four kids (including the also fabulous Alison Brie) figure it out. It's rather low-key but I love a good mystery when it's not overly sensational. Recommended.

Now he is beautiful BUT I hate a face tattoo. I love a tattooed man but please make it neck down.
 
Did anyone watch The Wives on channel 5? I have been quite enjoying the majority of the 5 dramas and this looks like it has a great cast,
 
Being subjected to MAFS UK. Eve is a dead ringer for Michael Shannon, and that twat barber cunt looks more like Bingo from The Banana Splits, but somehow he absolutely loves himself.
 
Finished Nightsleeper (2024). It was fine. Some terrible acting from 1 of them, but I'd still recommend for something to binge through.

Now onto Savage Beauty (2024-present). Via a dirty fire stick. Hope I don't get arrested.

"Don't make excuses for being low class". Oh I'm liking already.
 
About halfway through Nightsleeper - quite enjoying it so far but I thought it could have done with more pace :D. Why was she meandering through the train station to her office, not fancy getting a hurry on for that love?
