Phillip Schofield's Career DEAD? 🤷‍♀️ The Castaway Years (1 Viewer)

Oh, hang on, 2 hours of "Interactive Gambling" at night, that's more like the Channel 5 I remember.

Marina Hyde spoke frankly about this 'picnic of narcissism' on The Rest Is Entertainment today.

I wonder how many of those 1.4m viewers are likely to hang around for another couple of hours of it.

I have read a few articles online today that have said that he seems more angry about getting sacked from ITV and his abrupt exit rather than remorseful about how that happened. OH DEAR.

I wondered if anyone from here had watched but doesn’t look like anyone HAS?

Yeah I saw one where he said it was his brothers fault

I’m not sure what this was even for? Was it just to tell his side of the story or is it to try and resurrect his career? Why did he not just retire from the spotlight as he can’t be short of money.

I watched the first part. I've always liked him.

Would you say the negative comments are unfair then? I always liked him too up until his last couple of years on tv when I think you could see a noticeable change in him.

To be fair, I haven't watched much of what he was on recently (This Morning & Dancing On Ice) so my perceptions of him are probably outdated but I do think he thinks he was such a big deal at ITV that he was probably bulletproof.

I do think he was treated harshly but I understand other people thinking he got what he deserved.

I was talking about how he acted on This Morning mostly and agree that he felt he was bulletproof.

I meant do you think he came across well on the Castaway programme and do you think the negative comments are justified? I can’t get it yet over here in Ireland.

I don't think this is doing him any favours. I think it's in the same vein as the Prince Andrew interview - he thinks it's one thing but the public will think otherwise

does that mean there'll be a classy but pulseless TV adaptation of this in which Michael Sheen plays an artfully bedraggled Schofe, Billie Piper is Holly (only heard screaming on the phone), Charli XCX is the PR genius who decides to send Phil to his desert island exile, and Ralph Fiennes is the C5 commisioner who falls asleep while viewing the raw footage? would watch (one episode, 60 mins only).

I guess it may be algorithms doing their thing, but everything I've seen about it on social media has been negative about him on it.
