Now that it's been mentioned I think the first Madonna song I listened to could've been Holiday, but Papa Don't Preach was probably the earliest I'd pondered the name of haha.
For ABBA maybe Waterloo. Yellow Submarine probably knew of as a Beatles song title first, but I've no idea of which particular song.
Even for Whitney I'm rethinking; I didn't really know of her before her passing (possibly same with Michael Jackson, but surely heard both passively). How Will I Know seems like one of the songs they played in the tribute clips that I might've heard.

I went through stages with Madonna. I think Into The Groove was the first time I was like "ooh I like this" (bear in mind I was 8) and then Papa Don't Preach was the first time I was like OMG.

Like A Prayer was huge at school and with cousins etc. But it wasn't until The Immaculate Collection came out that I put it altogether and became a fan.
