We've banged it on a few times. The kitchen is pretty poorly insulated and keeps the house from staying warm. We also have windows ajar near the bathroom, to deny the damp setting in.

Yeah, to be fair I live in a tiny Paris flat. But we do have the windows open often for humidity reasons as well.

I haven't thus far, which is surprising because I hate the cold and my flatmate is always warm and cracks the window open.
