Kylie - Tension II (Album XVIb)

Didn’t they have some promo in the second week of Tension I? Like more formatting or something?
My memory is terrible but quite possibly. I'm surprised BMG had nothing up their sleeves for this in the second week, at the very least to prevent such a huge drop.

I don't think it will make much difference either - it's not like a huge number of tracks from Tension 1 have crossed over into the mainstream and have to be included. And the moaning from fans when a significant number of tracks across both are missing is going to be unbearable.

I'm just glad that she's stated on a number occasions that she won't pay dust to Disco despite the protestations of people claiming to be fans (of hers).

Like you've said previously though, I worry that we'll be in for that slowed down, phone lights aloft version of Say Something.

Oh please....don't say it (I don't want to will it into existence). I've messaged Steve Anderson on Instagram to tell him that isn't what we want, not that I expect him to read it

I can't believe that Kylie doesn't understand how majestic her Infinite Disco performance was

I think it just could be too easy, given she's going to want to switch up the pace a bit, and the vast majority of material she's put out since the last tour is a lot more upbeat.

I'd much rather Hold On To Now get the slowed down treatment.

I hate my favourite Kylie song ever to be given such a disservice.

I’ve settled on this as my Ultimate Tension tracklist:

1. Lights Camera Action
2. Padam Padam
3. Tension
4. Good As Gone
5. Someone For Me
6. My Oh My (feat. Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo)
7. Hold On To Now
8. Edge Of Saturday Night (feat. Blessed Madonna)
9. Taboo
10. Things We Do For Love
11. Vegas High
12. 10 Out Of 10 (feat. Oliver Heldens)
13. Shoulda Left Ya
14. Story

I wasn’t sure it would actually work to combine them but actually the Tension II tracks help increase the tempo and make it the pure dance pop album Tension I could have been based on Padam Padam and Tension (song), but then Tension II needs the more well-crafted songs from Tension I to feel more like a proper album.

So they all serve one another quite well.

The people from MY OTHER FORUM all said the same thing as you guys.

She looks like WILLIAM HARTNELL

She's overworking that angle. Or presumably the photographer is.

Oh it will probably be on streaming before Christmas.

I bought it but have only listened to Good As Gone ( :disco:) so far.
That's what we thought about that version of Tension I with the extra tracks, wasn't it?

Three weeks in and I'm feeling very ambivalent about this album.

I mean, as a way of promoting the tour I suppose it's served its purpose, but I'm pretty sure a year from now we'll all be placing it towards the bottom of her post-SAW album rankings. I know I already would.

It's going to be a weird one to consider, and will probably join the Abbey Road Sessions and the Christmas album in the hard to define list.

I was ambivalent but have grown to enjoy it. Still very much viewing it as a companion piece rather than an album in its own right, though.

Isn't that how you felt about the first version too though?
It is. I think she's off the boil right now for me.

The quality on the extended mixes I bought is horrible (quiet and flat), so I do hope they send them out to streaming eventually.

For me, the weakest songs on this set are Dance To The Music for being so basic and Shoulda Left Ya for being the most incomplete song. It seems to have been intentionally stunted to fit in with the rest of the album and suffers for it. I also find the lyrics quite clunky.

I don't really include the collabs aside from Edge Of Saturday night which I still consider to be stellar.

LCA, Someone For Me, Good As Gone and Kiss Bang Bang are up there with her very best. Taboo and Diamonds I am back and forth with but I still really enjoy them.

Hello is hilarious and I love it for that reason.

It’s fine, but I don’t really listen to it. Happy for its place in the back cat but I still prefer Tension I.
