Sunday gets a bit overexcited about seeing a Roly’s store

You know them? I’ve been toying with going in and mentioning you as part of my sales pitch to get their vacancies.
I know all the owners of all the shops. But the person working may not be the owner. Some of them have several shops so they don't work in them all the time.

But whenever my mum finds a Roly's she always goes in and says her daughter owns the Roly's on the Isle of Wight.

If it's an owner or manager they're always super interested. If it's just a staff member they don't tend to care.

But feel free to name drop 🤣

I actually will, cheers!

The owner is Andy, Scottish guy. Apparently he's usually in the shop and knows us well!

Is Roly’s an English thing then? I can’t recall ever seeing one in all my years I lived in Scotland.

Yeah it is. Originated in Devon in 1987. There's 1 in Wales. And I think if someone found a good location in Scotland or Ireland they'd be able to open, but otherwise the franchise is closed to new shops opening.

Mr F and I were in the kitchen earlier when we both heard really weird music. Looked blankly at each other then I walked into the dining room to investigate ... it was the Tesco driver ringing the landline to ask whether I'd accept my delivery an hour early. Told him yes and he said "I'm outside now" so I opened the door and asked "what would you have done if I'd said no?", he'd have rang the last delivery person (I was his penultimate drop) and gone there if they'd accepted then would have to come back and sit outside my house until my delivery window.

I was happy, the shopping was all put away before it was meant to be delivered.

Mean Girls is on TV. I didn't realise it's 20 years old :o
