I'll be amazed if she's got more than 5 minutes screentime in total.

She's clearly been added for promo purposes. I doubt anyone would get excited for a drama starring Charlotte Riley, Bill Fellows, Phil Dunning and, er, Steph McGovern.
 
Very much enjoying this. Not every line lands but the performances are great, the references are very Moopy, and it's made me LOL a fair bit four episodes in.

I've watched the first two episodes and I definitely laughed more than I expected.

If I didn't know Mark Benton was Mam I would not have guessed.
 
It's a shame to have Michelle Visage feature and to not ask her to do her brilliant accent work as seen on the West End's There's Something About Jamie.
 
We loved this! Hope there’s more to come. Michelle was such weird stunt casting tho? She’s literally in about two scenes?
 
I felt like I wasn’t really fully on board with this yet I watched it all and would watch a second season so I guess I’m getting there with it.

That's kind of where I am with it. I watched the first one, decided I didn't like it and wasn't going to bother with the rest, but ended up watching it while doing other things, as Mr L decided to stick with it. And by the end it did grow on me considerably.

There's something about how Dickie pronounces 'Stewart' which is delicious.
 
I finished and really enjoyed this, though the occasional clunky line plagued it to the end.

I hope it comes back - the ending was lovely, and how fittingly bizarre to have a Diane Chorley song be used so well.

I also enjoyed how how one of the talent show judges (who had one line across his two episodes) was randomly Phantom from Gladiators, but as himself.
 
I assume there was more chat about this in the general watching thread. I'm pleased - it won me over by the end of the run.

I assumed it was just us sad old queens who watched it. Delighted there were enough of us for a second run!

Ahead of s2 they've launched a spin-off chatshow for Dickie on YouTube. First one out today with guest Rylan. 3 mins in and I've learnt that he has to take all his clothes off to take a shit

 
Genuinely loved the first season, hugely looking forwards to season 2!

Yeah I agree. Watched season 1 twice within the first week. Season 2 seems to be missing something. I really think it would suit a Xmas special well.
