The IACGMOOH final is up over 400k viewers (5%) on last year, despite the series as a whole running very slightly lower. I'd like to think that final figure reflected a bunch of celebs who people seemed to on the whole really quite like, compared to the casting of Farage last year.

Strictly is down just under 4% on the same week last year.

Did it see a big drop off due to the Wallace stuff I wonder
 
The first episode of Netflix’s Black Doves got 4.290m, the second 3.512m, but the remaining episodes all missed the chart, so fewer than 2.818m.

Corrie seems to have carried on with the 1 million hold over Eastenders over the majority of the year. I wonder if it will still trounce Corrie on Christmas Day?
 
Last year I singled the final out but it was still behind Strictly - main show and the results.

Over 2023, the gap between them narrowed. This year, it seems to have opened up again, although not perhaps to where we were at the start of 2023.

I still expect EastEnders to beat Corrie on Christmas Day, if not trounce it. Christmas Corrie has never really felt like a thing in the same way as EE, has it? Plus it seems like Corrie has fucked up the possibility of Gail's exit being a big story.

EE haven’t got a massive Christmas storyline either this year. I would have thought Helen Worth would have been all over everything promoting her exit though as it may bring former viewers back as she has been in in for 50? Years.
 
I think Helen Worth has probably long since checked out.
 
Wasn't there some sort of FALLOUT about her leaving? I know about the Martin business, but I feel like there's something behind the scenes with her going on that we don't know about.

I don’t know. I think it is kind of understandable that after 50 years she doesn’t want to be the next Barbara Knox or Bill Roache. I don’t know obviously, but surely some of them are entitled to a half decent retirement. I think she is about 75?

I've not watched it yet, but only heard good things from friends who saw it last week during its cinema run. And overwhelmingly positive on twitter.

Thinkbox has updated, so I can see it has 3.480m excluding device viewing. I just prefer to wait for the full info before doing the chart.

Gavin and Stacey got higher ratings than it did 5 years ago!! Absolutely FANTASTIC.
 
The BBC line up was PERFECT for me apart from Wallace and Gromit ( Not my bag at all, sorry), and Mrs Browns Boys ( why are they still encouraging this?).
 
Even if Wallace and Gromit isn't your thing, it's a fantastic piece of a Christmas Day TV schedule.

As I told the local paper about three decades ago...
