Hello.

I do need to dye my hair right enough. Should do that.

Also, listening to Joy Division which - and this might surprise you all - I don't do that often. I genuinely prefer New Order.

I’ve been listening to Cardigans bsides, which has been rather suitable for a grey Sunday morning.

It's not entirely grey here. Plus I've been gifted a new light box, which I have brightening my mood AS WE SPEAK.

Which Kitty is rather partial to, he keeps licking it

I've never done christmas decorations outside the front of my house.

To enter the proper spirit, I've hung a single cheap bauble on a branch of a potted plant.

I hope my neighbours enjoy my Christmas joy.

The neighbour downstairs has started listening to music and TV so loudly I can't hear every word over my own TV.

But I've finally found a use for my Loop earplugs. They practically drown out his noise.

I've had to come into town to pick up a few more bits (for my mum).

Only semi-hellish.

Fancy new viofo dashcam arrived yesterday maybe I'll at least plug it in. Can't do the wiring properly as we get like 2 hours of daylight currently

I do love a sarky response to the rather ostentatious approach some people have the festive season.
My favourite will always be one of my old DWP colleagues who would sit at his desk one afternoon with a pile of the cheapest cards he could find, just use his name stamp on each one and not write a single word, then walk around the office smoking what he described as his 'festive fag', chucking one on every desk after everyone else had gone home.

Ho ho ho indeed.

Moopy do you think we are being overcharged for our electricity?

It's just Mandy and I in a 2 bed flat. We don't use the central heating, just 1 stand alone heater but it's not on loads.

We don't use the oven, just the hob and air fryer.

Use the washing machine twice a week.

No gas.

Octopus are charging us £175 a month and want us to go up to £220! This seems pretty extreme to me considering my mum and her husband are in a 3 bed large house and only pay £145.

Watching Die Hard 3 which is NOT a christmas film

Would it not be cheaper to run the central heating over an electric heater? I can’t imagine what else could be making it so high? I pay £85 a month for gas and electric in a 1 bed flat.

The central heating doesn't work, we need to get it fixed, but it's ridiculously old and expensive so we've not bothered. The heater is an oil filled radiator and pretty cheap.

Hmm so we pay about £90 more, which maybe is about right if there's two of us and 2 beds.

I nearly took the wrong train if it wasn’t for the old lady sitting in (what I thought was) my seat. Good thing I got off to talk to an agent, as the doors closed as soon as I got off what turned out to be the wrong train 😰

We pay under £100 for both in a three bedroom house.

I pay £190 a month for both gas and electric. My radiators are well used, at least two hours a day at the moment, Mr F's PS5 and TV are running 24 hours a day as are the various lights in the vivarium. I'd say you're being overcharged.

We can't work out why tho, Mandy's getting quotes from other companies and they're all satisfied similar. I know electric is more expensive for heating water, but this seems very extreme.

e.on

I am expecting our bills to go up now Mr L is retired and home a lot more, though.
Actually Mandy and I have just had this conversation.

Because we both work odd days, there's someone home quite often, and when we are home we have the TV, heating etc on. Our TV is huge and very old, it radiates heat, so I know that's expensive.

I'm going to spend my days at home sat in a blanket reading 😬
