I thought we'd done everything, but another trip to Sainsbury's this morning is incoming, before hitting up the parents tonight. No Mersea Island from us this year :(

Thankfully I stopped at a bottle of delicious red last night and went to bed early, although I'm still pretty sluggish.

I've not been going crazy food or drink wise at all so far. today will be a LEAN SOUP and a SCHLOER or two.

tomorrow and boxing day however I do intend to PIG OUT and drink about TWENTY SIX BAILEYS (served with a splash of milk, for health).

I downloaded the Pokémon trading card game yesterday and that was a MISTAKE.

I'm sending Mr L out for a bit of veg. Then I'll do a bit of prep tonight so that everything tomorrow is ready to go, rather than faffing about peeling and chopping in the morning.

Everything is very much done though, thankfully. Just a bit of veg prep.

I'm eating a Terry's chocolate orange while serving fudge to last minute shoppers.

I'm also wondering if it's too early to start taking the shop Christmas decorations down 😬

I have a quick trip to the wee Tesco over the road and that's it. A wee bit of tidying up then it'll be time for The Muppets, as always on Xmas Eve.

(I may have also scored a dodgy download of James Acaster's HBO special to watch afterwards...)

If you want to make money then YES!

I thought I was done gift buying, but am going out again for add ons in a few hours. I could not believe how busy it was last night at 10pm at the Glasgow Fort shopping thing. Boots were closed - that might be a good stop actually as I'm thinking a basket full of toiletries might be the way to go.

I’m working, don’t normally have to do customer stuff but have been allocated some complaints to sift through today to help out. At least it’s not in person or verbal so I can feign interest.

Still haven’t packed or wrapped anything and my train is at 6.

Were being spanish and having a big meal tonight so I’ve just been to ALCAMPO and will shortly start getting pissed

Went to go and get a bloody mary. Everywhere we wanted to go was closed, everywhere that was open we didn't to go. We came home.

In much much better news my expected wage of £200 at the end of this week has more than doubled (after tax), with an apparent tax rebate.

No queue at Tesco, just a few folk milling about. In and out in 5 minutes.

Mr L has come back from Lidl, with everything we needed (plus a load of other stuff), a lot of it heavily reduced. He said it was about as busy as a usual Saturday.

Yeah, they were reducing the cheese in Tesco but it was half a wheel of generic Stilton so I wasn't particularly tempted.

We went into Southsea Waitrose (we forgot the oh so essential Treeslets 🙄) and it was dead other than people with trolleys full of yellow stickered stock basically jostling behind the guy with the reducing gun. Seemed a bit sad- even the Sally Army brass band was basically being ignored.

Just home from work. The Lidl by there was dead (but it’s usually full of students, so that figures). Mr jyxz is on call tonight so I hope he doesn’t irritate me with his work crap. I have acquired a dodgy download of Gladiator 2 so that’s us sorted.

Well I'm never going to set off on a five hour drive after work on Christmas Eve to see my mother ever again.
I think I was too generally in a STATE OF SHOCK after all the EVENTS to have time to even think that last year.

Does anyone else watch Carols At King's? I have a lot of history with Christmas hymns and I often find myself watching it. It can be genuinely beautiful.
