And Thursday, who did NOT die

Well, morning didn’t go so well. Am supposed to visit my dad today, along with mum. Mum fell out with my step mum 2 years ago due to some blown up melodrama that was all my step mum’s fault.

They FINALLY made up this year. Now my brother called on the phone and decided to ask us what it was all about with all the details. Now mum is all riled up about it again :D

My theory is that retired women regress back to teenage years because they no longer have jobs, and they let silly things fester as there’s nothing more important to do.

What WAS it is all about though?

Oh it was an absolutely ridiculous over reaction. Step mother (SM) thinks she’s an amazing cook and prides herself on it. She was hosting their book club and Mum politely took some of the food as no one else was having it. It wasn’t very nice so she left it. When offered more she honestly said that “well I liked it but I wouldn’t have it again”. Apparently this was the most rude and insulting thing ever according to SM.

Literally 3 months later they met up with the club in a pub. Mum doesn’t see many people and was looking forward to it. SM had just come back from a long trip to Canada and isn’t quite as lonely. SM decided to publicly shame Mum and demand an apology for the food comment, including yelling at her. Mum didn’t know what on earth she’d done and left crying.

SM then sent a long “apology” email, which wasn’t an apology, but a list of petty grievances that had been festering away against Mum, as a justification of her public humiliation, which included Mum apparently not praising her choice of books enough :manson:

I don’t really read the ASFM topics. Has this ever happened here? :D

Just been in town, checking HMV and Fopp's almost identical sales. Lass in HMV missed out one of my items but she was so sullen about having to stop talking to her pal and actually serve me that I nearly didn't tell her. However, I realised immediately that it would be me who was walking out of the store with something that wasn't on the receipt and this would harm only me so I fessed up and she rang it through giggling to herself.

Opened my laundry machine yesterday evening and my in ear headphones fell out after 1h at 40°C - amazingly enough, they worked again this morning after a night on the radiator.

A Christmas miracle.
