Tina Turner - Hot For You Baby

Is it era appropriate for Private Dancer? If so (and the title makes me think it might be) that’s VERY exciting.

From new reissues of Private Dancer, can't find tracklistings yet.

Just one vault track across 5 discs is a bit disappointing, especially when there's already so much live Tina content out there. Still, I'm looking forward to the new track.

I guess it just depends how much there actually is say in the vaults. She was prolific with bsides at the time so there probably wasn’t much wastage. She’s hardly PRINCE.

It’s a shame there’s not a double vinyl with the bsides/ extra tracks as I’d have bitten their hands off for that.

The live stuff doesn’t do a lot for me either and I already have most of the bsides on a previous expanded version so, even if I still was buying cds, I probably wouldn’t have bitten.

It’s made me want to give the album a spin.

To be honest, loves, I need to spend a morning MESSING WITH THAT STEEL CLAW :disco:

OT but I bought the reissues of three of her seventies albums recently. I've especially been enjoying the wonderfully titled Fruits of the Night and her The Bitch Is Back from Rough.

The Amazon listing has 16 tracks Vs HMV's 13

Disc: 2
1 Hot For You Baby
2 I Wrote a Letter (2015 Remaster)
3 Rock 'n' Roll Widow (2015 Remaster)
4 Don't Rush the Good Things (2015 Remaster)
5 When I Was Young (2015 Remaster)
6 Keep Your Hands off My Baby (2015 Remaster)
7 Nutbush City Limits (Live at Park West, Chicago - August 2nd 1984)
8 Let's Pretend We're Married (Live at Park West, Chicago - August 2nd 1984)
9 Let's Stay Together (Single Edit) [2023 Remaster]
10 Help (Single Edit) [2025 Remaster]
11 Better Be Good to Me (Single Edit) [2023 Remaster]
12 Private Dancer (Single Edit) [2023 Remaster]
13 What's Love Got to Do with It (Extended 12" Remix) [2015 Remaster]

15 Better Be Good to Me (Extended 12" Remix) [2025 Remaster]
16 Show Some Respect (Extended Mix) [2015 Remaster]

That is better, and probably just enough for me to bite once going cheap.

I do wish it was a 3 CD option, and then they just left the live stuff and blu-rays for the box.

The fact that it feels a bit rough only makes me think what it would feel (and look) like live :disco:

Ironically as much as I love some heavy soul, and this IS Tina, I was hoping for a mid tempo pop track.

It’s very good though!

Not sure about that.

For what it is worth I did see that Hot For You Baby is on the tracklisting for the upcoming Now 120. A spot on the Radio 2 playlist is enough these days.

Still playing Hot For You Baby, it is such a thrill. I'm not sure it would have fit on the album but so glad it escaped the vaults.

Pet Shop Boys!

A disco mix of "Confidential" (which I absolutely adore anyway) would be amazing.

But I'm assuming Neil and Chris have twiddled the knobs on Hot For You Baby which is rather exciting too.

Hot For You Baby has ready made Hi-NRG DISCO POTENTIAL so looking forward to hearing what they've done with it.

Yeah agreed. Could have been a tits out stomper but they went pills-at-dawn with it. And it doesn’t match the vocal at all.

Heard it last night and couldn't believe how dreadful it is on pretty much every level.

It's fine in a MySpace demo way, but I don't know what those queens were thinking serving something so cold for us.

Anyone been following the FURORE over the launch of an "official" Tina Turner wig...

...that looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE ANY TINA TURNER WIG SHE EVER WORE :D

It's been, unsurprisingly, withdrawn, but was the height of FAN FLEECING at around £70 for THAT!

Wasn’t it going for $1000? Which makes it even MORE egregious :D
