It's not. Very grey here again and no work. Nipping out for coffee inabit. Feels like a good day to submerge myself in the book I've been stretching out since about November.
 
Apparently the thermometer may hit double digits next week, finally. How on earth will we cope?
 
I've had a VERY INTENESE morning and now I don't want to do anything else.
 
I've really fallen out with the gym too. I was going 4 times a week now I can't be arsed to go at all.
 
I was just on a bus home and two REVENUE INSPECTION OFFICERS (ticket inspectors) got on.

I just showed my app, which was fine. Then I saw a lady have to show her bank card. I did wonder at what point we agreed to show our bank cards to strangers wearing hi-vis jackets on a bus?

Anyway a guy upstairs caused a fuss and they called the police. It delayed us by 20 minutes and we had to change buses, all over a THREE POUND TICKET.

It felt QUITE OTT.

They do it on the Metro here, swarm on in mobs and then make you tap a device that scans your card. Use the wrong card and its £60 no refunds.

They always have police waiting at the stops where people are on lower incomes as well to shake down non payers. Very Tory.

Fucking hell.

I've rarely if never had conversations with people on buses, but everyone was outraged. I really don't see the point, particularly from a service that is hardly outdoing itself.

They apparently have 'recovered' millions in lost fares, which I kind of support because we need good public transport. But I don't like the way its very targetted. I'm sure there must be a fairer way. (Like nationalisation of all public transport)
 
Like if you go to Europe they don't have this shit, we got busses and trains all over Italy and not once did anyone inspect anything, but then it was dirt cheap. Capitalism.

I wanted to pop down to London for the Melfest final but the train was £150! I might as well go to ACTUAL SWEDEN if I am spending that kind of money

I didn't understand the bus system in Rome, so we got on for free, but the Internet tells me if we'd been caught, which was pure luck we didn't, we'd have a €100 fine.

Luckily enough there was a SURPRISE TOURISM TAX to keep us in check.

But how do you even JUMP a bus? You go past a driver who takes your fare. Yes we do need good public transport and credit where it's due, it's not bad here, but is this really the money spinner/ dealer of justice it's portrayed as? I dont mind it on trains, but BUSES? Talk about targeting the poorest, when THE BOSSES OF WATER COMPANIES etc etc etc, come home Luigi.
