24K Gold deserved so much better. I thought Malou held the performance together fairly well, or at least they did a decent job of working round her limitations.

Dolly Style should be fun in theory but watching the performance feels like a long three minutes. The two qualifiers were deeply unexciting.

Sanna's medley was fun, however I thought the vocal didn't sound quite up there to her usual standard, unless it was just an off night.

The other AC-qualifier will most likely be determined by by vote count in their original Heat, that's before Hush Hush went viral. That leaves Meira with little more than a 1 in 4 chance of advancing.

SVT already lobbied for a replacement for 24K Gold, so things are looking bleak. Her only saving grace is that, at 21, she's the youngest singer ever to have competed four times.

She's going to have a difficult time keeping up with Ann-Louise Hanson however, as the latter entered her 4th and 5th entries at 22.

Enjoyed this heat a lot more than I expected I would going in!

- Didn't hate the Greczula song but obviously hate everything he stands for. Good to have a COMEDY VILLAIN for the year at least. Would obviously do decently in Basel if they opted for him but that's NOT THE POINT

- LOVED the Shirley VTs as a schlager therapist (well, maybe just for Malou). Get her on retainer!

- Poor brave Malou I think the track just wasn't quite right for her vibe - she works best as the girl next door. If she lucks out on getting one last shot after this she REALLY needs to lean into that.

- Lovely sexy Bjorn's track wasn't too bad, but obviously not one anyone would give the slightest damn about whether it made it. Obviously quite a personal track to him but he feels like he could've been put to better use on something more competitive - good singer!

- Dolly Style - what a triumph Love the WHIPLASH sound effects in the chorus

- Tusse should've done that Angelino track.

- Found myself enjoying the Shake It Out hen party karaoke energy of Annika much more than I anticipated doing

- Sanna is absolutely going to end up looking like (a 6'7) Celine over the next twenty years. She should totally have a Helene Fischer comeback soon on the evidence of that turn in a GLITTERED CATSUIT

Sorry to be boring by actually giving a genuine answer to a genuine question, but yes 2 of the 5 will qualify.

One will go through based on the votes they received from their heat, and the other will qualify based on that combined with a new vote on the night of AC.

I don't think this bit is true because it's more likely to disadvantage a song in a heat with a Loreen figure who swallows up a huge percentage of the vote, but yes it's flawed.

Maybe, but either way, it best serves those from heats where the top three are well clear of the remainders, whereas it would be most fair to judge second chance songs against each other only.

The above is all incorrect. As per the new rules, the first qualifier will be the one with the highest absolute number of votes in their heat, not a % portion. The way the Finalkval round of voting is designed ensures that the Heat 5 qualifier advances as the second qualifier if it hasn’t already done so as the first qualifier.

Yes, but the “total number of votes” is adjusted for how many votes were cast in total in the heat so it’s essentially a percentage even if it’s not expressed as such.

Yes, that's not necessarily a bad change. But it does give an unfair advantage to heats with more viewers.
