They popped up in my shuffle today and I decided to have a full out Exposé party at my desk.

I checked Wiki and was shocked to find they flopped worldwide except here in the US so this will probably be a flop as well BUT I wanted to do a singles rank.

A lot of their early stuff is great and they released some amazing singles from the first 2 albums.

The first album is great, the second less so but has its moments.

I don’t know enough to do a rate but Point Of No Return, What You Don’t Know and Come Go With Me are all 10/10 freestyle classics.

Only UK chart entry for them is "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me" reaching number 75. I've always intended to listen further though, partly due to the song on the RPDR lip sync above & also because the Pet Shop Boys mentioned that "Domino Dancing" was an attempt to ape their sound, even working on it with Expose's producer.

"In Walked Love" was taken into the top 20 here several years later by Louise, although from your rating I can see you're NOT THAT FUSSED

Well that's some welcome morning listening inspiration

I think I have the first and third albums and GH on CD, all from that cheap US site I can't remember the name of that sold second hand and shipped without cases. Such exciting tightly wrapped packages bound in bubble wrap.

There was definitely a tail off when the second string Diane Warren ballads and covers came in.

Well I'm the second biggest Exposé fan here. Discovered them with What you don't know, quickly buying the first 2 albums, and haven't stop playing their music yet.

Btw, did you know that Point of no return, their second single and second top 5 in USA in 1987, was a #1 dance hit 2 years before for Exposé... sung by a totally different line up?



And in case someone didn't know, In Walked Love, an AC hit in 1994 for the group, is the same song that covered years later the not-overrated-at-all Louise.

Exposé’s seven consecutive Top 10 hits on the US Hot 100 landed them behind only The Supremes (with nine consecutive Top 10 hits) for most Top 10 hits by an all-female group.

They really are one of the few “girl groups” that genuinely always felt like a group and not one singer and a few backups.
