To some, this is probably the dictionary definition of a BOP.

To others, it's probably an abomination.

That being said, it's omnipresence in UK property TV programmes (think before/after purchase renovation!!!)!)!) probably means that it's one of her most lucrative songs especially as they always use the wowowow vocal bit and she's a songwriter on it too. So yeah, get money Miss K-Mo.

Fabulous, if not one of her best.

Actually worked really well with the guitar on Monday, surprisingly.
 
Loved it as an album track. Unfortunately my Radio 2 listenage was at its peak at the time it was a single, and the intense overload of airplay made me dislike it.
 
It's lost all meaning since I listen to Sara Cox while cooking dinner every evening. She uses it as the 'theme' to the drive time bop filled "half wower"
 
It's my least favourite of the songs by Kylie in this vein (Love at First Sight, Get Out of My Way, Into the Blue, etc.)
 
It's a bop for me, but I'm glad she's retired it when it seemed for a while it would become ubiquitous.

At the time, it was an important record in her discography- 2 Hearts was not the hit it should have been and Wow was the safety option. We all know had The One come out first (or In My Arms if it hadn't leaked), they probably wouldn't have gone with Wow second, it probably wouldn't have been a big hit and we probably wouldn't have been having this discussion right now.
 
I always mentally associate it with Get Outta My Way in the category of pleasant B-tier Kylie bops that keep her afloat with the casuals in between her gay interest only classics.

It's interesting that GOMY has almost three times as many streams (60m to Wow's 20m) despite being a much smaller hit at the time .
 
Is that globally? Remember Wow was a later single in the rest of the world than it was in the UK (most places went with In My Arms second) so it would have had less exposure elsewhere. I also think the eras help GOMW. Get Outta My Way has had quite a lot of live exposure as well...

Wow is technically a bop but not one of her songs inrush to play.

Wow screams 'throw out as the last single' to me. And I'm quite sure it would have been had they not needed to course correct.

Yeah I get this too. I assume it’s quite heavily playlisted too? Similar to In Your Eyes perhaps which both punch way above their weight based on their original success.

Of course they could just be very well liked, but they do seem to do much better than their respective ‘peers’ that I assume it’s somewhat related to that.
 
I seem to remember Wow had an X Factor performance that was quite fun, at least.

Oh very much so, it just seems slightly strange that is easily outdoes LAFS and Spinning Around which were bigger, are wheeled out more often etc.
 
In Your Eyes outstreams other hits because it is an absolute beast of a song and should have been a multi-week #1
 
I only really liked it on the Golden tour and maybe X2008 too. On record, I tolerate it at best. Glad she rested it this time.
 
In Your Eyes was the second single from Fever and followed the behemoth that was Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Are we sure that Love At First Sight outperformed it? As far as I recall both songs achieved silver status in the UK - but it wouldn't surprise me if In Your Eyes was a bigger global success at the time
 
Looking at Wikipedia and chart positions where they did chart, there's little in it either way. But LAFS was a reasonable success in the US whereas IYE didn't chart there. Was it released there?
 
It wasn't released in the US as far as I know. Head only saw a release in 2002 - so obviously there wasn't time to follow it up with In Your Eyes.

Ah, the days of staggered music releases!

Love at First Sight felt much bigger here than its #23 Hot 100 peak suggests. It was all over MTV/VH1 and it served as the soundtrack to every countdown /reality type show back then. It went top ten at pop radio too. It was never commercially released, which may have hurt it on the Hot 100, before the CD single was completely dead.

In Your Eyes wasn’t released here in any capacity.

Get Outta My Way gets a lot of exposure on playlists, auto play, etc as others have said.
