EastEnders 2025

I’m making my way through last week’s episodes and they really have the air of season finale about them. Have they done similar for other departing producers in the past?
 
It's odd how they're making such a big deal about getting a new producer. Anything to give it a bit of hype I suppose.
 
I know this last year has been considerably patchier than the preceding one, but overall Chris Clenshaw really did bring it back from the brink.

I think he’s leaving more or less every character on that show in a better place than he inherited them, and I just hope all the good work isn’t undone by this new person.

Well I totally fell for the Hayley bluff, which seemed completely thrown in there to spook the hardcore fans so well done EastEnders.

Of course when Kat said the line it all fell into place. It’s a shame the tabloids leaked yet another big return because that could have been a huge moment.

It's totally ridiculous. I hate it when they just make up a storyline out of nowhere. Feels like they're trying to fit it in though with him talking about his past today.

I think she’s been estranged from Kat for quite some time, but it’s not been established what her relationship with the other Slaters is.

From memory the depth and potential of Zoe's character is just being part of Jessie Wallace's "You Ain't My Mutha" scene and simping for Patrick Truman's wet blanket of a son. Oh and being groomed into shagging her boyfriend's dad.
 
Yes come to think of it, for being such a popular family, the Slaters weren’t exactly a richly-drawn bunch, Kat and Little Mo aside.

Nothing against poor Michelle Ryan, but was Zoe REALLY that iconic? Her legacy really hinges around one memeable scene that Jessie Wallace carried.
 
Having her great comeback off the square, in a random Airbnb set, really lacks any gravitas. Most off square comebacks are at least on location!
 
Remember when they put her in that expensive looking American remake of The Bionic Woman that nobody watched?

Same with the Cindy and Kathy returns, it really screams "We don't trust anyone to keep a secret, so let's filming something sneaky elsewhere two weeks before TV broadcast and then have them off screen for weeks while we catch up filming with them post broadcast reveal". Those LOONS that stand at the Elstree gate would leak them coming and going too :eyes:

Totally seeing a Johnny and Callum pairing and for Felix to witness something to convince him to leave with Bernie.
 
When they were discussing how to write Felix out, I would love to know who at the table was ballsy enough to say “let’s bring him into The Six storyline!”
