We did shopping before the crowds and temperature peaked. Still very warm, but generally pleasant.

BBQ later. Judge me bitches.
 
Just found a tin of mixed bean salad in the cupboard. With some sweetcorn and cucumber that'll keep me sorted for lunch and dinner, and i can leave the supermarket until later tonight, thankfully.
 
I succumbed and bought a fan yesterday so I finally managed to get more than three hours sleep last night.
 
News from my hayfever: if this heat means that all the plants are going to die then they deserve it, the leafy bastards.
 
Darlings don't you have DELIVERIES? I'm far too FABULOUS to go to the SUPERMARKET (more like I have approximately 10000000 other things to do)
 
I've had my shopping delivered twice, once when I was recovering from an operation and had run out of a few things and another time when I was isolating with COVID. I couldn't deal with the substitutions and the pressure to decide on the spot if they were alright - apart from the one that blatantly wasn't when they swapped a large size of something for a small size and it wasn't less stuff, it was "that won't fit". Too stressful.
 
I hate food shopping deliveries. I echo the complaints about substitutions.

I kinda enjoy my weekly food shops. HOW WOULD I EVER DISCOVER NEW THINGS?
 
Anyway we didn't do food shopping today, I went and bought CLOTHES and GIFTS.
 
You can minimize substitutions by (i) shopping from Ocado or (ii) putting your order in for early in the morning

I do quite like going round the supermarket but as with a lot of things I can't OFTEN BE ARSED
 
I do deliveries or click and collect as I don't have time either. I rarely get substitutions these days.
 
I do my supermarket shop online mostly nowadays. There's the odd substitution and replacement but they always email first to say what's unavailable and what they've substituted so I'm prepared when it arrives.

The Universe is telling me not to do the garden today. Three times I've gone out with the strimmer and each time it's started to rain, big drops and threatening to get much heavier, so I've brought the strimmer back in three times although I spent an hour pulling up Mare's Tail in the rain which was nice and cooling.
 
Seeing a matinee of 28 Years Later on this glorious day and the cinema is LOVELY AND COLD.

It's awful, it's got exponentially worse every year since the council gave up weedkilling the streets during Covid. It's easy enough to pull up but, like Japanese Knotweed, it propagates by rhizomes deep in the ground. I managed to get rid of the Knotweed next to my shed but it took three years of Glyphosate weedkiller to do it and I don't like using it because it's bee-killer so I'm not using it on the Mare's Tail which is all in the front garden.
 
@floppet, I wish you could come and consult me on my garden.

It looks amazing right now as I have a gardener who looks after it, so nothing to do with me. I haven't the first clue about what to tell them to focus on, and just let them get on with it. I know that won't last forever.

The window cleaner retired last week which was already a major upset!
 
Right, I'm leaving the house for the first time since about 8pm on Wednesday. WISH ME LUCK
 
It was the school's summer fete today including a FUN RUN where you get pelted with dye, then came home and casually emptied out the lounge for our new floor being put in on Monday.

SUCH NICE WEATHER FOR ALL OF THAT

Ours is next week. Obviously I've volunteered to help and have been given the booze run. You should see my garage right now :disco:
 
I pretty much just fucked today off. A long bath, some new music in my ears and that'll do. Too warm.
 
Imagine having this on your lawn rather than a domestic cat. You wouldn't have any trouble with the local strays...

On a day like this, it starts at a normal temperature, then I start letting the water out and replacing it with cold water until it's at a cool temperature.
