Another warm, but not quite as unbearable as yesterday, day.

Think I'll challenge myself and MOW THE LAWN.
 
Made the mistake of making Sunday afternoon plans with a terminally hungover friend. Text them 90 minutes ago and they still haven’t read it.
 
In the gym prepping myself for the upcoming conscription
 
I'm ignoring the looming apocalypse and I'm excited to prepare a salad dressing from scratch this evening.
 
I wish I hadn't joked but I just saw someone buy 4 loaves and about 10 tins of beans! This could be their normal diet, mind you - I used to love beans on toast.

Were going to do our festival shop later and it’ll look quite like a prepper shoot, perhaps with more box wine than average

Ron Jr has had his Roblox account phished and I’ve just spent ages trying to recover it (and failed).

This isnt what I expected parenting to be like if I am honest!
 
I’m trying to write my mum’s eulogy and struggling. I don’t want it to be fawning (she’d have hated it) and am thinking of going down a bawdy story route and just making people laugh.

I also can’t decide if “Welcome to the roast of Ann. Oh sorry, maybe not the right words to use today in a crematorium” is an acceptable line :D
 
If she'd have enjoyed it, absolutely go for it, I'd say. Even more so if you're going for a more celebration of life rather than funereal vibe.

It's at the start, so I think it should set the general tone...which isn't as BAD as that.

Music is awful. My Mum didn't LOVE music

Remember Me by Diana Ross (my choice) for the end

She loved Diana Ross and Motown generally, Abba because she came to Abba Voyage with me and Enya because we couldn't think of anything else and vaguely remember her buying the single :D

Not worried about her, but there is the audience to consider. But yeah, fuck it. Definitely going for it.

I cant listen to the Madonna version either. Because it’s SHIT.

I can’t remember all of the tracks we used for my Mums service apart from Bryan Ferry’s version of ‘A hard rains a-gonna fall’
 
My mum has said she just wants The Carpenters.

Naturally I'm leaning towards Jambalaya, Please Mr Postman and Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft.

I did a real mix with mine, sentimental and some comedy moments. I had the same issue, but I entwined her life with a few comedy bits to capture each life moment or what I was talking about.

Thanks. I've got some sentimental nice bits in- it isn't just a total roast, but she wasn't THAT sentimental a person, really.

Go with what your heart tells you. Personally, I love the idea of it being mostly a celebration.
