What are you cooking 2025?

Roasted a load of summer veg in premium olive oil and tossed it in pasta. Nom.

The foundation of any good roast is gravy. Make it properly with decent stock not just oxo or bisto.
Absolutely. An amazing gravy elevates everything else on the plate, and a poor one diminishes everything. It's well worth spending what seems like a lot of time and effort on it when you could just open a jar and add hot water.

I always do christmas gravy right from scratch, roasting bones and making my own stock. Takes days but always worth it.

Finally got round to a fancy ramen bowl like what you see on the Internet. Bit of a sloppy mess, but it tasted great. What a fucking mare to prepare though. Maximum hob action.

Yes, I've made ramen a few times now and don't feel like I've got to grips with the timings and general efficiency necessary yet. It's been delicious every time, but it's felt like a lot of things on the go simultaneously and lots of washing up. I'm sure there must be a way of streamlining the process.

And if you're going to make it regularly Ag, do consider getting some furikake seasoning. Completely elevates it.

Genuine hell. I forgot the eggs, which is the only precious thing in terms of timing, but I kinda got around it. The kitchen was a disaster zone. Happily all cleaned up already. 90 minutes to the start of cooking to the end of cleaning the kitchen. It doesn't look that way!

Noted. I may well do, I have the stuff now (although my increasingly well stocked kitchen, didn't that much added).

I made an amazing lamb sandwich last night

Roast leg of lamb, half as cooked and half crispy cooked in butter and balsamic

On focaccia with some whipped feta, caramelised onion, roasted red peppers, tzatziki and mozzarella and cheddar

And a lamb gravy dipping sauce on the side

Made everything apart from the focaccia

Incredibly unhealthy

Pic or it didn't happen.

OMG this sounds AMAZING.

Be still my clogged arteries, that sounds amazing

I was pretty pleased with my chipotle and honey chicken and stuffed long pointed peppers the other day, but that lamb sandwich is an escalation.

I wouldn’t normally go to this much effort but it was worth it, especially the dipping sauce and the crispy lamb

Whipped feta was new to me as well but yum

I just googled that - does it always have spice in it?

When I've made whipped feta, I just used yogurt and oil with the feta. And a bit of lemon juice & zest.

Yeah. I didn’t make it spicy

I did what you do plus garlic, salt, pepper and a bit of fresh rosemary (and a tiny bit of truffle oil)

Every time I order it it's different cause everyone makes it to their own tastes but technically to justify it's name it's meant to burn a tiny bit.

I made a delicious, yet somewhat immoral leftover veg bake yesterday to go witha fishcake. Twas v. good. Making my first pie this weekend :disco:
