I woke up this morning and chose "Justify My Love".

Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another.

It still baffles me that Public Enemy got away with trying to sue Madonna & Kravitz for the infamous drum sample when they clearly sampled it themselves, like they did on many other of their tracks, and like so many hip-hop and even pop artists were doing with funk drum loops ever since Eric B & Rakim took it mainstream in 1987. Kravitz was right - it's one of those beats you find on the floor because it's been sampled to death in various forms. Devastatingly effective when used right though. Probably my favourite use of it - followed by George's "Waiting For That Day".

Can anyone identify the remix of JML in this TikTok? That IS JML right?

This will forever be her baddest bitch moment. It was such a power move, and probably the coolest thing she ever did.

I’ve spent a good few minutes mulling this over and I think I probably agree. Thank you for bringing that to my life.

And this terrible response track that completely misses the point of what Madonna was doing, reducing the "Donna" to the boy toy image she always toyed with herself to her own wants and not the other way around.
