Impossible Princess - coherent, some top quality dance & electronica tunes, & a rare glimpse at a Kylie very different to the POP PRINCESS persona.
 
Fever, a true classic, but you could make a great case for Light Years too.
 
I thought I'd be in the minority.

Impossible Princess is the most cohesive out of all the ones I've listened to.
 
I'm really surprised to see so many votes for Impossible Princess. love the sound but the actual quality of the songs is wildly up and down, it's hardly a front to back listen.
 
Body Language as it holds a special place in my heart because it was when I first properly got into Kylie.

I found this poll/picking an all time best of Kylie’s very difficult for this reason. Despite being one of my favorite artists, she’s never delivered a front to back album without some degree of filler.

Impossible Princess is the closest to her best, IMO, because it has the most cohesive quality as some have mentioned and Breathe, Dreams, Drunk, Too Far, Some Kind of Bliss, I Don’t Need Anyone, are all 10/10s for me. That said, I never need to listen to Through the Years or Say Hey.

I debated voting for Fever or Body Language but the former has less towering highs imo (Head is undeniable but do I ever seek it out?) and latter is a mood album for me. The self titled also is up there but has a bit too much filler for a 10 track album. Light Years is probably the closest to IP.

Not true to be honest
FEVER is wall to wall pop perfection with zero fillers
 
I accept there is probs some filler on Light Years but it's pure camp theatrical pop and so even stuff like 'Koocachoo' and "loveBoat' which may be considered FILLAH by some (:eyes: ) still work in context.

I'm more surprised about the votes for Body Language but I guess there are some sultry sexy R&B girlies in this place (hi @Ellie @Music @Whatevar )

Body Language was also another contender for me. I like Janet-esque Kylie
 
It might actually be a SHOCKING discovery that I have voted Aphrodite because of the strength of the singles (yes, even BTT) and some very good album tracks; justice for Mighty Rivers - closely followed by Impossible Princess of course.

On what planet is Fever a true back-to-back album when things like Give It To Me and Your Love ruin the flow, but then again, you have Tight Rope oh, and More More More as the opener is just *chef's kiss*
 
I'd agree that Impossible Princess is cohesive (and that's something a lot of her albums aren't), but if it wasn't by Kylie, I wouldn't have that much interest in it.

I'll go for Light Years, just for the tears of gay disco joy I shed when first hearing the snippets.
 
The DeConstruction sounds have aged well but unsurpisingly for a dance label, the songs aren't really there. Sure, "Confide In Me" is classic and "Put Yourself In My Place" is very good but it should have gone to Dina Carroll. (She had the range.)

My vote: Ultimate Kylie.
 
Your Love should have been Tightrope. And Dancefloor is pretty middling.

Pretty much every Kylie album has a couple of b-sides or leaks that would be a definite upgrade if swapped in.

I was undecided but have shown some love for RoL.
 
Kylie is more of an era artist for me than an album artist. Case and point: Rhythm of Love delivers her absolute horizon point peaks for me, but I can hardly say it's a classic album even if what's there to keep from it is beyond essential, genre-defining and iconic.

I'm choosing Tension. Vocally, she no longer pleases me, but quality-wise I couldn't believe she was bringing the consistency this far into her career. Disco really threw it down too.

I don't understand people who claim Impossible Princess as the best Kylie album. I get that it was an important moment for her personally, but it's so clumsy and antithetical to who she is as an artist. It's like trying to claim that the best Spice Girls album is Forever. It's probably the closest album to the sound they wanted to be making at the time, but that doesn't mean it worked.

Anyway the correct answer is very obviously Light Years.

But Forever is a bad album. I like indie Kylie /deconstruction years as much as Parlophone Kylie- they’re just different.
