This is so bizarre. Naked Gun / Police Squad is a very specific type of humour and Leslie Nielsen was a very specific type of comedy actor.

I’ll reserve judgement but I don’t see Liam Neeson in this role at all.

I mean it’s not needed. The originals are classics and the humor from that era really can’t (and probably shouldn’t) be replicated. Same with the Police Academy series, Porky’s, Revenge Of The Nerds, etc.

There were 4 or 5 moments that had me gasping for air and wanting to be able to pause it to take it in!

It’s finally free on Paramount so I gave it a go tonight. I think the beginning had some really funny bits but then it just stared feeling tedious. Pam was great but I wasn’t sold on Liam.
