Chrissie Hynde - Duets Special

The inconsistent tagging made me think there was actually a Blondie collaboration on the album called 'Trying to Sleep with Debbie Harry'. Which would be kind of iconic.
 
I'm interested but some old chestnuts in that line up (the SONGS).

Covering solo Morrissey too...
 
Ok gimme kd, Debbie and Shirley.

I had her (Pretenders) take on Human (Divinyls) on the other day. Not a patch on the original, but still a solid take on a gorgeous song.
 


This sounds entirely unnecessary and slightly unpleasant to these ears - her vocal sounds like an AI Chrissie Hynde.
 
Interim project between Pretenders albums I believe but yes I’m interested. She sounds fine to me on the single too. I’d have loved her to have reached out to Siouxsie to do something too as they along with Debbie Harry and Poly Styrene were at the forefront of the punk scene.

Morrissey did do a pretty decent cover of Back On The Chain Gang (probably my favourite Pretenders song) so perhaps that’s what’s inspired her to cover one of his, at least she chose a good one.
 
They've given it a sort of soft I'll Stand By You treatment.

Siouxsie is probably tired from her Iggy Pop magnum advert duet last year. Although hopefully she's absolutely seething at Budgie branding her an alcoholic (she's previously said the same of him) in that book of his, and will have a creative volcanic eruption for a new album.
