Low bar to clear but after watching his ep 1 highlights on the EE youtube, Oscar is already the best male Branning by a country mile.
 
Interested for the potential big Suki storyline after tonight's episode. She has been much underused in recent times, and this has potential for her going back to her devious ways (which is her most entertaining IMO)
 
I think EE has been great the last couple of weeks. Lots of things going on at once. I think I'm enjoying Nigel's wife, straight outta Corrie. Obviously Oscar is fun. The Slaters in the Vic feels like a cozy blast from the past. Not even hating the mechanics unlikely bromance. Then of course Avani getting pregnant with a sex pest and tonight's twist... we were in need of some new storylines.
 
I presume Eve looks different due to the actors chemotherapy. I assume it's a wig and fake eyebrows. Credit to her ploughing on regardless.
 
I love that they haven’t compromised Eve’s character here today. I can’t even believe Suki would assume she’d be able to be manipulated.

She did a little video clip of them fitting her with the wig and getting it cut. Bless her.
 
I really didn’t enjoy this week at all. There’s some really bizarre out of character plot-driven stuff going on at the moment, which is all well and good when the plot has ludicrous camp value like Sharon and the poisoned spaghetti, but I’m not really that bothered about a lot of them.

It’s like this new producer has come in with a list of things he wants to happen in his vision of the show (Kat in the Vic, Suki scheming again, George and Nicola together, maybe Kim and Howie splitting up?) and is having any old plot written at breakneck speed to make all of that happen even if it doesn’t particularly make sense.

I hope it settles down a bit, but right now I’m kind of back to the feeling I’m just watching actors say lines that I had a few years ago before Chris Clenshaw took over.
 
Oh yes the Zoe thing, that’s another ridiculous piece of plotting. Stacey and Alfie continuing to lie, lie again and lie even more to Kat is just ridiculous. There is no reason for them to need to do so at this point.

A "short stint" but I'm sure a full time return isn't far off.

I haven't missed him. The shows attempts to make a human trafficking murderer some sort of GAY HERO was always problematic.

I thought it was confirmed a while ago that they had given him another chance and he was coming back full time? I always found his relationship with Callum so boring

I think certain newspapers were reporting rumors as if they were fact, but the BBC have never confirmed a full time return officially.

It will happen of course.

I do. It would be great to see dynamics with Sharon too, what with the Dennis connection. But knowing EastEnders it’ll be 2 interesting bits of dialogue and then they’ll forget about it.
