Hopefully Nicole Ari Parker will get a boost from it though.

So is there a chance they'll pick up the story in 10 years (or so) or is this really it with these characters now?

I'm baffled anyone could forget the Che Diaz finger blasting / Carrie piss party episode, because honestly I think that will be the single DEFINING legacy of this show.
 
To think that compared to this show, SATC2 now seems like imperial era content. It's like when we say that 4 Minutes is prime Madonna.
 
I can’t believe how bad that final episode was. Surely HBO didn’t can it until the last minute and they had no idea that was going to be the last one.
 
You’d think they’d make a half decent episode just in case! HBO canned it pretty quickly after it started, presumably ratings fell OFF A CLIFF after they got rid of the iconic Che Diaz.
 
The problem ultimately is the women just weren’t ASPIRATIONAL anymore like the original series. They were all super rich but their lives weren’t sexy or exciting or enviable.
 
I see a lot of WAILING and A-WEEPING about Carrie's ending from the media

But honestly I think it was one of the few redeeming features of the whole sorry saga. Wasn't the major consistent theme of the SAC and AJLT about how Carrie constantly fucked her life by tying her identity to ATROCIOUS men? That's not aspirational, no matter if she's wearing beautiful gowns doing it.

The final scene was perhaps the first time she actually showed any growth.
 
I don't think we even addressed this but why did Duncan turn into a gay transvestite towards the end? He was practically gooning and gapeing over Carrie's shoes collection.
 
Watching the episode where Samantha and Carrie get the train to San Francisco and I can’t get over how brilliant the writing for this used to be.
 
I just watched the final 2 episodes. The penultimate one was so nothingy. Still, I enjoyed the finale scene with establishing the different between being alone vs on your own.

Charlotte saying Carrie was fabulous (thankfully she didn’t say “brave”) but then instantly setting her up with Queen Victor Garber pissed me off.
 
Apologies if this is known, but I was just doing some pub quiz research and I accidentally learned that the actor who played the accursed Ché on this show originated the role of The Diva/The Lady of the Lake in the Broadway run of Spamalot?!

Look I don’t care how bad the writing is. I love the characters and still want to see them
 
I genuinely have no desire to see the characters any more as they were in AJLT. I'd rather watch the old episodes of SATC. I think I've still got a couple of the seasons on DVD somewhere.

Give it a few years and I'll probably be clamouring for a reboot where they are all even worse though :disco:
 
I’ve spent the last 2 days binging this series again and I really think they had a decent idea but my God the storylines with the non-main women really drug it down. I mean all the Lisa stuff (especially in the 3rd season) was pointless and a waste of airtime.

Also watching it all together really brought out how awful the entire Che era was. It was easier to take pieced out episode by episode.
