Are you READY?

Almost feels like another lead single. I will be interested to see what makes her album in terms of the cuts released already. I'd assume Forget About Us and You Go Your Way at least, and I think 'Tears' is a good album track. However listening to recent podcasts she is basically saying she's gone back to the drawing board. She has said she had an album ready to go but went back to the studio and wanted to make sure she was involved in the writing of most of the songs after it became obvious she was singing other peoples songs...hmmm.

It sounds a lot like "Shout Out To My Ex" (is that what it was called?)

She just doesn't seem to align with what the kids are listening to. She seems very Radio 2 adjacent which won't get her a hit unless she finds some way to break through. She needs a zeitgeist moment. I'm surprised she hasn't done more to leverage her incredible voice - has she done much live lounge stuff? They should have tried to get her on Tiny Desk, or Colors?

She could do with a big collaboration too, maybe a guest vocal with Ronson or Harris or Fodera. She seems to be actively trying to make it without that, though.

This is just Shout Out To My Ex as @funky just said. It sounds good, but I don’t see it being a hit.

I loved her in Little Mix but I can’t get into any of her solo stuff. Little Mix was definitely the sum of its parts more than anything.

Realistically Funky is right in that her best chance of a hit is a dance collaboration.

In the current age, pop girls have only three viable routes - 1) personality pop (which Jade has managed), 2) slut pop (which Jesy... attempted), 3) generic faceless EDM features

Poor Perrie has zero chance with option 1 and is never going to be convincing with option 2. It would be a great waste to see her go down the rubbish Ella Henderson route, but Perrie still trying to pretend it's 2016 won't cut it.

It’s definitely a throwback to Shout Out To My Ex/Ugly Heart/P!nk-style 2010s pop, but I love it. By far her strongest release to date.

I don't know - for me all the ingredients are there, but it feels oddly kind of listless.

Yeah it just feels like Shout Out but re-written. Even the references to sex, which standout more than they should for some reason.

It’s not awful but meh

Not a patch on TEARS!

Which looks like it won’t make the album, along with Rollercoaster. Forget About Us and You Go Your Way are on there.

She’s removed the two songs that at least showed a bit of variety, and now she has three promo songs for the album that sound exactly the same.

Someone get this poor girl some better management STAT!

The album is out on 26th September. That seems a short run in... feels like they have finally decided to give up on waiting for something to stick and just get it over with.

Spotify says 16 tracks overall, including: Forget About Us, If He Wanted To He Would, and You Go Your Way. so, Tears and Rollercoaster OUT.

Hmm, she performed Rollercoaster at a very recent gig. I wonder if its all subject to change/TBC. I would personally keep Tears

I remember during her fairly mortifying appearance on Graham Norton last year, she made a whole overblown thing about how she wasn’t ready to reveal the name of the album yet because she wanted to hold something back for the fans.

Excited to learn that the mystery has now been unveiled and the album will be titled… Perrie.

I saw a clip of her saying she scrapped the whole album and started again, so it wouldn’t be surprising if some of the singles so far aren’t on it.

Expected I’d assume? Surely none have except the first, though I could well be wrong on that.

It’s top 100 on Apple Music so that alongside it being #1 on iTunes still should see it at least chart this week.

Looks like it may be out the top forty in today’s update, as it’s not listed. She’s up to #47 on Apple Music though which is promising. I’m thinking around a #50 debut which isn’t too bad (for her) given no physicals.

Held up well at #56 in todays midweeks which is rather good for her. Spotify have added it to Hot Hits which is the first time I think since Angel of My Dreams (or maybe It Girl) so that is oddly promising. It doesn’t have that much impact these days but will still give it a bit of a hand in staying around.

Yes its nearing 2 million on spotify now which seems by far the most promising since the debut single

If she gets a second week on the chart it'll be the first time she manages it since the debut.

Hardly seems the strongest launch for the album though.

New instant Grat 'Cute Aggression' out at Midnight

I hate that she hates Tears, it's her best single and I just can't cope with the shouty Kelly Clarkson impression stuff. There's no need.

It's interesting to match up the Spice Girls' solo career trajectories to the Little Mixers, now we're a couple years in and the interest is drying up :david:

Perrie and Emma - bland, directionless, Heart FM pop

Leigh-Anne and Victoria - a couple one-off singles before moving into fashun and beauty

Jade and Geri - gay music for gays

Jesy and Mel B - urban smashes from the group's foremost woman of colour
