Being produced by A24 for Peacock, starring the wonderful Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees. Late 2026 release I believe. Couldn't find any official promo visuals, but I know we have many horror stans.

Is this a 'universe' anyone's interested in watching as a TV series?

I don’t know that I care all that much BUT I will give it a shot.

Yeah not bothered by this.

The franchise is in litigation hell, so nobody can use the title “Friday the 13th” or the character of Jason and Crystal Lake, all in the same film :D

Yeah, I’ll probably give this a punt (:ken:)

Apparently it’s just the film rights that are a mess and the tv show won’t be affected @jivafox

I believe there was also another F13 show from a couple of years ago that flopped or something? And longtime fans of the franchise have been wanting a film for ages. The whole thing seems very messy.

The last TV series ran in the late 80s. It was Friday the 13th in name only, and was about an antique shop full of cursed objects that accidentally get sold. It’s actually pretty great :D

I think I'm much more interested in seeing the upcoming IT series.

But then again, I can't resist watching anything Linda Cardellini.

Anyone watched this yet? All episodes landed last week in the US and first episode will broadcast tomorrow in the UK on Sky (I have acquired them in a dodgy fashion)

Watched the first episode and I think I’m on board. I do hope to see the more practical hairdo and sensible knitwear I associate with Mrs Voorhees at some point.

Abby Lockhart!!

Watched first 2 eps and enjoying it! Not into Friday the 13th lore but don’t think that’ll be a problem.

This is fun for us who have been waiting for a series since the original announcement in 2014 and subsequent Bryan Fuller drama. It really is a love letter to the original film, right down to the recreation of the town, café and casting of Crazy Ralph. The dedication to the source material is ki-ki-ma-ma.
