lead single from album 2 had a big spotify debut (#3 in the UK) yesterday

very much in her jazz bag but it bops! sounds very Mark Ronson although he's not involved

I've only listened to it once. When it first came on my initial reaction was this again, but it won me over. Sounds like a big ol hit.

I liked it with one listen but it didn't stick like any of the 21st Century Blues singles or Genesis (which I'm not sure ever got discussed here but is a literal masterpiece imo). Appreciate that it's not really comparable to one standalone 7 minute opus though, so just happy to have her back on a proper albam campaign

I suspect this is controversial in the Little Rayester community but I much prefer her when she's in her jazzy, Ain't No Other Man, Winehouse bag than whatever that 'Escapism.' song was all about.

I could not believe Mark Ronson was not involved when I checked the credits.

Euphoric Sad Songs Raye is my fave, but this slaps, as did Escapism and Black Mascare. She seems happy not to be pigeon holed with one sound so good for her.

Great debut at number 4 in UK but with 44K sales which seems pretty high for that number in recent times. Seems to be sticking around on streaming too. Would love this to go to number 1 but don't see it happening in the next few weeks.

Also she has seemingly announced a 6th date at the O2 arena next year I had no idea she was so big these days. Escapism was obviously huge but it doesnt feel like anything else since had anywhere near that level of success

I think she should have #2 on lock next week! then Taylor will demolish the top 5 so #1 might be a push but it looks like the song is gonna stick around. +9 to 25 on global today

looking at the success of her tour and Jade's, and the impossibility of scoring tickets for Ariana's ten London dates, I'm wondering if demand for gigs has taken another big leap up over summer. it's getting crazy.

Yeah Taylor is likely to be a problem for her sadly. Also expecting the Olivia Dean album to do hig numbers this week, plus Golden will still be in the mix so I reckon 3 at best next week, but maybe only 4 if Olivia can land another big streaming song.

Considering the prices of the O2 too, its wild! Cost of living crisis where exactly?! Olivia Dean has also announced 4 O2 dates next year too. Great to see these acts selling out so many dates, but still seems quite early in their careers to be doing so (Ariana excepted of course)

Her first Hot 100 debut since “Escapism” aside from a feature earlier this year.

Global smash! Sales down only slightly in UK but hopefully can rebound once Taylor starts to fade, a number 2 peak seems very achievable.... whether she can get a number 1 probably depends on how Ophelia holds over the coming weeks.

It reaches #37 on the Hot 100 this week. It would be verging on the top 20 if not for the Christmas songs. It should sail to the top ten in January at this rate, once the path clears. It would be her first in the States

Also now looking like she might have sneaked a week at number one in the UK when Ophelia drops to ACR but unlikely now cos of the bloody Xmas songs. God I hate the December charts these days!!

New Live At Montreux version released on physical and download yesterday, which won't harm her chances of possibly rebounding back up the chart next week.

I assume they’ll be gunning for the #1 this week?

I’m confused over what gets reset and what doesn’t etc. But if Man I Need doesn’t she may have a good shot?

#3 in first look, but Kylie will easily fall away. Looks like Olivia not in the frame, just old Swifty stopping her currently.

I love the slow build-up this song has had so far; feels proper old school, like a chart run from 2008.

Correct year to reference: After all the Sugababes’ Girls ran so “Where Is My Husband” can FLY.
