It's a low tier Mariah album. It has some nice songs (My Love, Here for It All, I Won't Allow It, Sugar Sweet, Type Dangerous), but there's nothing here that she hasn't made better versions of earlier in her career.
Some of the vocals are atrocious. I'm genuinely surprised that she cleared that Nothing is Impossible vocal.
I guess the writing was on the wall when she criticised Caution - objectively her best, and bravest album in decades. It's like she completely missed what made Caution so great and decided to give us a shorter version of Elusive Chanteuse, just without the highest highs of that album (#Beautiful, You Don't Know What To Do, Meteorite, Camouflage).
As it stands, I think my current favourite is My Love. Probably a first for me that a cover is the best thing on a Mariah album.
