A niche request I know, but I would like it.

Basically the pop classics sub-forum but for old Eurovision entries.

I’ll add a poll but also I don’t really care for the views of non Eurovision fans  (in any walk of life)

Why make a poll if you're going to ignore the results in the unlikely event they don't tell you what you want to hear? I'M SAYING NOTHING :argh:

Who says I'd have ignored the results? My comment about not caring for the opinions of non-fans was facetious.

Although I would suggest that voting down such a blatantly harmless request that would have no impact on your own life if you don't browse the Eurovision forum already is a little bit on the mean spirited side. SAYING NOTHING!

My only concern is what is going to be considered 'old'

Same as the Pop Classics Forum, it's up to the discretion of the poster.

It's really just a practical thing. Sometimes I feel like posting my appreciation for some bit of old rope from the 90s, but it doesn't feel like it sits especially naturally alongside all the discussion about current Eurovision events, especially given it's pretty much an all-year round discussion point at this stage.

And certainly during the active season with all the individual country threads, any individual song posts seem almost out of place.

I fully endorse this. Not that I have a lot of interest in Eurovision between June and December 31st, it still has more than enough potential to tick over nicely. Like it or not Eurovision is at the very centre of Moopy.

WHAT OF IT

Whilst I strongly approve of the existence of this forum, we need a consistent format for the thread titles or I am going to go mad. And you don’t want that.

I think Diego's way makes sense. It's easy on the eye and I know from the very first word if I want to continue reading (any country except Portugal - maybe. Portugal - no.)
It's also entirely factually accurate.

This!!! It’s doing my head in.

Nice idea! 😊🎶 Also
LAURA BRANIGAN FORUM NOW
🤩

I'd say classic Eurovision could be up to/including Loreen's Euphoria (so 2012 in Azerbaijan, which happens to be the earliest ESC I vividly remember).

We do need standardisation. It's really unpleasant to look at right now.

Are you agitating for it to be rebranded as an exclusive 1999 rewatch forum?

Because I could be persuaded…

I thought the choice of placeholder year would be the best way to get everyone on board.
